Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, generations of leaders and members of the Vietnam Journalists Association (VJA) and journalists nationwide have always been united, proactive, creative, and strived to overcome difficulties and constantly grow. The Association's activities have gone into depth, with many outstanding events, affirming the role and position of a political - social - professional organization of Vietnamese journalists in social life.

The Vietnam Journalists Association currently has more than 25,000 members, operating in 301 Association-level units (63 provincial and municipal Journalists Associations, 20 inter-associations, and 218 affiliated associations). As a place to gather and unite the team of members - journalists, the Vietnam Journalists Association has contributed to organizing and motivating the team of journalists to propagate the successful implementation of the Party's guidelines and resolutions, the State's policies and laws, the country's great and comprehensive achievements in all fields; implementing the Party's resolutions and directives and the State's regulations on information and press work; promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, associated with the implementation of regulations on the ethics of Vietnamese journalists to build a team of journalists with steadfast political will, pure professional ethics, and high professional qualifications and skills.
As part of the 2023 work plan and program, Vietnam Journalists Association chose Hoa Binh province as the venue to organize 4 thematic conferences including: "Summary of 17 years of the National Press Awards and summary of high-quality journalism support work in 2022; implementation of the high-quality journalism support program in 2023, 2024"; "Conference to review 1 year of the emulation movement to build a cultural environment in press agencies and instructions for implementing the Vietnam Journalists Association Charter; Summary of the management of members who are resident press agency reporters in localities"; "Press conference on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the context of digital transformation"; "Conference to review 6 years of implementing the 2016 Press Law in conjunction with 10 Articles regulating the professional ethics of Vietnamese journalists, Rules for using social networks of Vietnamese journalists".
It can be affirmed that the press plays a very important role in social life. In recent times, the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Journalists Association branches at all levels, and press agencies have implemented many specific solutions and created a favorable environment for high-quality journalism creation activities. Through the work of supporting high-quality journalism works, the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Journalists Associations of provinces and cities, and the Central Journalists Association branches have created a great driving force to promote the movement of creating high-quality journalism works among journalist members nationwide, actively contributing to the propaganda to serve the cause of national construction and development. The program to support high-quality journalism works has significantly contributed to improving the quality and quantity of works participating in the annual National Journalism Awards.
Vietnam Journalism Association is on the path to building "a professional, modern, combative, humane Vietnamese revolutionary press for the benefit of the country and the people, for a strong and prosperous country". Building a team of journalists with strong political will, meeting professional qualifications, upholding professional ethics, fulfilling social responsibilities and civic duties, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation. Over the past years, thousands of press works have been produced from the Project to support high-quality press works chaired by Vietnam Journalism Association.
Talking to us, comrade Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists' Association, emphasized: The content of the conferences held this time are all important issues, in line with the current reality of Vietnam's revolutionary press. Focus on evaluating and analyzing the role of the press in the fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints; good and creative ways of local Journalists' Associations, local press agencies and local journalists in the fight to protect the Party's ideological foundation, effectively implement the documents of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolutions of the 13th Central Conference. Along with that, a preliminary summary of 1 year of the emulation movement to build a cultural environment in press agencies is organized. This is an important campaign in the context of the press having a phenomenon of behavior and conduct of some journalists with cultural deviations; the cultural content in press works is still low compared to other topics. Another emerging issue is the management of members who are local press agency reporters. A number of press agency reporters have not strictly complied with regulations on ethics and professionalism in press activities. Some members do not participate in local press agency activities. Local press agencies have not paid attention to the management and recruitment of members, leading to negative phenomena and behaviors, especially reporters in magazines that have established offices. There are still many issues that need to be discussed. The implementation of the 2016 Press Law is associated with 10 Articles regulating the professional ethics of Vietnamese journalists, the Rules for using social networks of Vietnamese journalists, etc.
HNB Vietnam hopes that through the conferences held in Hoa Binh on this occasion, journalists and members of the provincial Association will be able to exchange and learn more experiences from colleagues in press agencies, HNB, and HNB branches. Together, we aim to build a professional, humane and modern press and media industry, contributing significantly to the implementation of the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels.
To continue promoting the glorious tradition of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Vietnamese revolutionary press, members of the Vietnam Journalists Association are deeply aware of the responsibility of journalists, constantly improving their political capacity, professional qualifications, upholding professional ethics, strengthening solidarity, striving to contribute to building a Vietnamese revolutionary press that is combative, humane, professional and modern, for the benefit of the country and the people.
