Building Hang Tram town into a smart city

Yen Thuy District People's Committee organized the establishment of a general planning project for the construction of Hang Tram town to ensure smart urban criteria, synchronization of technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, application of information technology, response to climate change...

The Reception and Result Delivery Department of Yen Thuy District People's Committee meets the requirements of serving businesses and people.

The district has issued decisions and plans on digital transformation, application of information technology in handling public services, building digital government... deployed in the town and the whole district. On the basis of the approved investment policy to build a traffic light signal system, install a traffic signal system at Yen Hoa intersection, Hang Tram town intersection with a total investment of 3 billion VND. Investing in inner-city infrastructure such as: traffic, district central square, schools... to make Hang Tram town urban area increasingly modern and complete.

The District Police and Provincial Police conducted a survey and installed 10 security cameras at intersections, crossroads, and key points on the roads with a total cost of 210 million VND; mobilized agencies and 20 families in the town to install about 40 security cameras and install additional cameras on the road at key points such as turns into the agency and alleys. According to the plan, in 2024 - 2025, 6 more cameras will be installed at intersections, crossroads, and key points. At the same time, the district implemented an investment project to build a lighting system on main urban roads with a total length of 2.1 km, a total cost of 2.8 billion VND; directed the People's Committee of Hang Tram town to mobilize all resources to complete the lighting system in the alleys of the residential area.

In addition, deploy shared information technology applications in the province such as: Document management and operation software system, electronic one-stop software system, official email system...

Comrade Bui Huyen, Vice Chairman of Yen Thuy District People's Committee said: The implementation of the Project on sustainable smart urban development in Vietnam for the period 2018 - 2025 and orientation to 2030 contributes to the formation of institutions and legal corridors on planning, investment, construction, management, supervision, and operation of smart cities, towards the goal of developing green and efficient urban growth, minimizing pollution, responding to climate change, building civilized, cultural, and sustainable urban development. Although smart urban development in Hang Tram town has achieved certain results, it mainly focuses on developing and providing smart urban services and utilities associated with e-government and digital government services, not paying attention to smart urban planning and management to fundamentally solve urban problems such as traffic, energy, environment, etc. Investment resources for smart cities are still limited, the installation of security and traffic cameras still requires mobilizing people's contributions.
