To keep yourself and others safe during parades, marches and events, the World Health Organization (WHO) in Viet Nam advises you to:

- Note the location of emergency exits and medical or first aid stations.

- Move at the edge of crowds or in less crowded places.

- Wear comfortable footwear. Avoid tripping hazards, such as trash, potholes, etc.

- Travel in a group. If you have children, always make sure they have enough space. Designate a meeting point in case you get lost.

- If the crowd starts to get too large or agitated, try to leave while you can. Avoid staying near walls, fences, or other barriers to avoid being crushed by the crowd.

- Do not push or shove. Move with the flow of people. You can go diagonally or to the sides to get away from the center of the jostling.

- If you fall, try to stand up as quickly as possible. If you cannot stand up, lie on your side with your arms around your head to protect it and your legs pulled up close to your body (fetal position in the uterus), which helps protect the organs in the body. Absolutely do not lie on your stomach or back.
