Vietnam's tourism industry in general and Bac Lieu in particular are being severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. While restoring "green areas", those working in this field are also looking for ways to restore tourism after the pandemic and find development directions in the new situation.
THE RIGHT DIRECTION
Commenting on the new trends after the COVID-19 pandemic, many experts believe that eco-tourism and community-based tourism will take the lead. These types of tourism will attract tourists because they always aim for sustainability in the future, blending with nature, and at the same time creating a connection between people and tourists. Bac Lieu is famous for cultural tourism, spiritual tourism and in recent years, it has more or less impressed tourists with new types such as: agricultural tourism, community tourism, eco-tourism. However, after COVID-19, which model can survive and which model is reasonable to maintain sustainability is a problem that needs to be solved for the functional sector.
Community tourism will help promote the image of Bac Lieu tourism throughout the region and the country. In addition, this type of tourism plays an important role in preserving cultural values, craft village values and creating jobs for local people... Therefore, this is considered a suitable direction for Bac Lieu after the COVID-19 epidemic is well controlled.
On the other hand, sustainable tourism development and the balance between nature and people are also issues that Bac Lieu needs to consider. And eco-tourism will certainly be the most chosen post-COVID-19 trend. Because this type of tourism contains many unique and attractive factors such as: open space, limited contact between many groups of people, meeting health needs... Referring to some ways of doing tourism in many famous destinations, we can hope for a completely new tourism picture after the epidemic. For example: "Da Lat - Love and nostalgia", or " Can Tho - White rice, clear water"..., then the slogan "Bac Lieu - Come once, love once", why not?!

CREATING CONDITIONS FOR TOURISM BUSINESSES TO RECOVER AND DEVELOP
Talking about developing eco-tourism and community tourism as a trend after the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Trinh Cong Vinh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bac Lieu Tourism Joint Stock Company and Chairman of the Provincial Tourism Association, said: "The Tourism Association will submit to the Provincial People's Committee a proposal to partially support businesses and tourism companies operating in this field. Currently, many businesses no longer have working capital to operate, so we propose that the province support them with preferential credit sources. Along with that, we will make a plan to connect tours and routes appropriately after the pandemic". While waiting for the new policy, and waiting for the end of social distancing, the Provincial Tourism Association will rearrange tourism activities; at the same time, connect with travel companies more regularly to orient development according to the direction of the Mekong Delta Tourism Association.
Currently, Mr. Bui Quoc Duong's Healthy Shrimp Farm (Hamlet 13, Vinh Hau Commune, Hoa Binh District) is in the process of renovation and gradually completing to be ready to welcome guests when possible. Taking advantage of the protective forest land, Mr. Duong researches the soil to grow vegetables and fruit trees with the motto of both self-production and self-consumption, and having enough supply to re-establish tourism services. Mr. Duong confided: "I have renovated more plots of land to grow crops, especially researching the cultivation of some medicinal plants. We don't know when this pandemic will end, so we need to proactively respond and "live with" it, because improving health is essential. In addition, I also research and learn how to grow agricultural products to achieve the highest nutritional value to serve tourists". Mr. Duong's next direction is to design an area for guests to self-serve, both true to the eco-tourism model and minimizing the contact between tourists and service staff.
Ecotourism and community tourism with large spaces, in harmony with nature will be a plus for those who want to explore new things, and are suitable for the tourism development situation of Bac Lieu in new conditions.
