On the morning of October 11, in Da Nang City, the first National Conference on “Research and Teaching Chinese in Vietnam” in 2024 was officially opened. The conference was organized by the University of Foreign Languages, Da Nang University in collaboration with the Association for Research and Teaching Chinese (under the Vietnam Linguistics Association).
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Huu Phuc, Rector of the University of Foreign Languages, University of Danang, said: The University of Foreign Languages, University of Danang (ULIS - UD) is one of the three largest language universities in the country. Over the years, the University has continuously improved the quality of teaching and learning with the goal of building the ULIS - UD to be worthy of being a core highereducation institution of the country, aiming for regional and international standards. Besides the tasks of training and serving the community, scientific research is also one of the top and extremely important tasks that the University is interested in and promoting.
With its functions, the School annually organizes national and international conferences and seminars on scientific research to create research forums for domestic and foreign staff, lecturers and researchers to attend. These are forums that help scientists share and exchange experiences in many different fields with the aim of improving the quality of teaching and learning.
Following the success of the national and international conferences in 2023, the 2024 National Conference is an activity in a series of events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Chinese Language training (1994 - 2024) and the 17th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese Language Department (2007-2024). The University of Foreign Languages, Danang University, in collaboration with the Chinese Language Research and Teaching Association (under the Vietnam Linguistics Association) organized the National Conference. with the theme “Research and teaching Chinese in Vietnam” for the first time in 2024.

“The workshop is a forum for lecturers and researchers of Chinese Language to exchange academic knowledge, share experiences and improve professional capacity. This is an important foundation for developing the environment for research and teaching Chinese Language, thereby contributing to the cause of developing education and training of high-quality human resources, meeting the needs of the labor market in the context of international integration. At the same time, through the workshop, we will continue to promote the spirit of international cooperation, consolidate and develop the good relationship between Vietnam and China in all fields, especially in education and training” - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc shared.
According to the program, the Workshop will take place in 04 sessions. In which, session 1 has the topic "The role of native language in teaching and learning foreign languages: The case of Vietnamese in teaching Chinese"; Session 2 "Training Chinese teachers at high school level in Vietnam: theory and practice"; Session 3 "Statistical research on the "find wrong sentences" type of questions in HSK level 6"; Session 4: "Method of analyzing Chinese characters and applying it to learning Chinese of students at the University of Foreign Languages, University of Danang"./.
