According to Decision 1431/QD-CTN signed byPresident Vo Van Thuong on November 28, 42 individuals were awarded the title of People's Artist (NSND). This is the latest list of the second batch of NSND titles awarded in 2023.

The first list was approved and signed by the President on June 22, with 77 artists being awarded the title. Including both lists, a total of 119 artists were awarded the title of People's Artist for the 10th time.

The artists awarded the title of People's Artist were all selected from 139 applications for the title of People's Artist submitted by 5 State-level specialized councils to the President.

In the list of conferring the title of People's Artist this time, many artists who are interested and loved by the audience are named, such as Meritorious Artist Xuan Bac, Thanh Lam, Que Tran, Tan Minh... Previously, these artists were not on the list of the first batch, causing many people to misunderstand that they "missed" the title.

Meritorious Artist Xuan Bac , born in 1976 in Viet Tri city ( Phu Tho ), is a familiar face through TV series such as: Moc's story, Song o day song, Con duong sang, Hai mien troi... He won the love of the audience with the role of Nam Tao in the program Meet at the end of the year.

Que Tran, born in 1982, was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in 2011. Que Tran followed reformed opera since the age of 8 at the Bach Long Children's Troupe and she is the daughter of People's Artist Thanh Tong.

Que Tran has many successful roles in different genres. Many of Que Tran's roles have left an impression on the audience such as: Phuong Thao in the play Dancing with the Devil, Nga in the play Song of the Ly Huong, Phuong in the play The Eye of Time, Princess Thien Kieu in White Plum Blossom, Princess Bich Van in Ben Cau Det Lua...

In 2009, she won the Gold Medal - National Professional Theater Festival for the role of Phuong in the play The Eye of Time organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association.

People's Artist is the highest title awarded by the State to individuals working in the fields of culture and arts.

A person awarded the title of People's Artist must have a continuous or cumulative professional artistic activity period of 20 years or more, and for the art forms of Circus and Dance, a continuous or cumulative professional artistic activity period of 15 years or more.

This person must also be awarded at least two gold prizes or one gold prize and two silver prizes at national, regional or international art festivals and performances and at Central literary and artistic associations since being awarded the title of Meritorious Artist.
