The Import-Export Department ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) cited statistics from the General Department of Customs, saying that in June 2023, Vietnam's coffee exports reached 140.6 thousand tons, worth 377.23 million USD, down 6.1% in volume and down 1.9% in value compared to May 2023, compared to June 2022, up 2.3% in volume and up 19.6% in value.

In the first 6 months of 2023, Vietnam's coffee exports reached over 1 million tons, worth 2.39 billion USD, down 3.1% in volume, but up 2.3% in value over the same period last year.
In June 2023, the average export price of Vietnam's coffee reached 2,683 USD/ton, up 4.4% compared to May 2023 and up 16.9% compared to June 2022.
In the first 6 months of 2023, the average export price of Vietnam's coffee reached 2,374 USD/ton, up 5.2% over the same period last year.
In June 2023, coffee exports to many EU member markets decreased compared to the same period last year, including: Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium. In contrast, exports to many markets recorded double- to triple-digit growth, including: the United States, Japan, Algeria, and the Netherlands.
In the first 6 months of 2023, coffee exports to Germany, Japan, Spain, and Belgium decreased, but exports to Italy, the United States, Russia, Algeria, Indonesia, and the Netherlands increased compared to the same period last year.
Notably, coffee exports to the Indonesian market in the first 6 months of the year reached 82.079 million USD, an increase of 161.5% over the same period last year; coffee exports to the Algerian market in the first 6 months of the year reached 92.138 million USD, an increase of 115.1% over the same period last year.
In the short term, global coffee prices are forecast to continue to fall due to new crop sales pressure from the world’s largest producer and exporter. However, the rate of decline will slow down due to concerns about supply shortages and forecasts that Vietnam’s coffee output in the harvest at the end of this year will decrease by about 10%.
According to the report of the National Coffee Federation (FNC) in Colombia, Arabica coffee production in the first 9 months of the 2022/2023 crop year reached 7,919 thousand bags, down 14.8% compared to the same crop year 2021/20233; exports reached 7,808 thousand bags, down 16.8%.
In addition, favorable weather information has supported Brazilian growers to harvest the new Robusta coffee crop in the final stage and the Arabica coffee crop at its peak.
