The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued Decision 3475/QD-BVHTTDL on the Plan to promote tourism in the Central Highlands region on the occasion of the first Ngoc Linh - Kon Tum Ginseng Festival in 2024.

The plan is expected to be held for 7 days in the fourth quarter of 2024 (specific implementation time after the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee issues the Plan to organize the First Ngoc Linh - Kon Tum Ginseng Festival in 2024) in Kon Tum and neighboring provinces in the Central Highlands region.

The purpose of the Plan is to promote the culture, people, and tourist destinations of the Central Highlands in general and Kon Tum in particular associated with Ngoc Linh ginseng, the economic , cultural, and tourism development strengths of the region; contribute to preserving the diversity and sustainable development of traditional cultures of ethnic minorities, contributing to the implementation of the task of building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development. Promote, promote, and attract investment in tourism in the Central Highlands in 2024 to attract tourists to the Central Highlands, attract investment in developing tourism products associated with Ngoc Linh ginseng; Through the introduction of programs, products, and potential areas, promote investment attraction, create conditions to connect domestic and foreign enterprises wishing to invest in localities in the Central Highlands in general and Kon Tum in particular.

Accordingly, the Plan includes the main activities: Promoting and promoting tourism in the Central Highlands region through the Art Program at the Opening Ceremony of the First Ngoc Linh - Kon Tum Ginseng Festival in 2024. Time: Quarter 4, 2024 at 16/3 Square, Kon Tum city, Kon Tum province. Program, duration: 60 minutes (after the ceremony 30 minutes).

Organize Famtrip program to survey, introduce tourism potential, build tours, tourist routes; connect with OCOP product production facilities to introduce and promote tourism products related to Ngoc Linh Ginseng, medicinal herbs and OCOP products of the locality and region. Expected time: 7 days in the 4th quarter of 2024 in some localities in the Central Highlands region. The scale of the survey team is expected to be 70 people including the Department of Tourism/Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the provinces in the Central Highlands region and provinces and units that have signed cooperation agreements with Kon Tum province; Tourism Associations of related provinces/cities; Institute for Tourism Development Research; Experts and researchers; tourism businesses; corporations, investors, businesses; Central and local media agencies and related components. The content of the survey of products and destinations in each locality is to introduce existing tourism products; At the same time, research, evaluate, and identify advantages and limitations that affect tourism activities and create a basis for building suitable tourism products with local characteristics associated with Ngoc Linh Ginseng, medicinal herbs, and OCOP products.

International Conference on Promoting, Promoting and Attracting Tourism Investment in the Central Highlands Region in 2024: Based on the results of the Survey, it will be the basis for organizing and discussing at the International Conference on Promoting, Promoting and Attracting Tourism Investment in the Central Highlands Region in 2024; introducing typical tourism products; discussing solutions for building and developing tourism products associated with Ngoc Linh Ginseng and medicinal herbs. Expected duration is half a day in the 4th quarter of 2024 at a 3-star hotel in Kon Tum City. Participants include representatives of central ministries and branches including: Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment; representatives of agencies and units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives of units under the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism; International delegates: Leaders of local authorities and cultural and tourism management agencies and tourism businesses of Attapeu, Sekong, Salavan, Champasak provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic; Stung Treng and Ratanakiri provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Delegates of provinces/cities: Leaders of People's Committees, Departments of Tourism/Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces that have links and cooperation in tourism development with Kon Tum province, the Central Highlands provinces and related components. Delegates of Kon Tum province include: Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee; Kon Tum Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee; businesses and investors in Kon Tum province. Vietnam Tourism Association; Tourism Associations of provinces/cities, Ngoc Linh Ginseng Association. Tourism and aviation businesses; economic and tourism experts; individuals, organizations doing business in tourism services and typical tourism products, typical investors in the Central Highlands region; sponsors, consultants and related components; domestic (central, local) and foreign (provinces of Laos and Cambodia) media and press agencies and other related components.

The main content of the Conference program will assess the current status of tourism activities in the Central Highlands region and the potential for developing typical tourism products in the Central Highlands region associated with Ngoc Linh Ginseng and medicinal herbs after the Survey; Discuss solutions for building tours and tourism routes for each locality and linking localities in the region, solutions for developing typical tourism products associated with Ngoc Linh Ginseng and medicinal herbs in the Central Highlands region in general, Kon Tum in particular; Orientation on tourism investment in the Central Highlands region in general, Kon Tum province in particular, proposing solutions to attract investment through assessments, perceptions, and experience sharing of experts, businesses, investors and related parties attending the Conference.

In addition, the Ministry also set out requirements for implementing the approved Plan on schedule, practically, effectively, economically, and avoiding waste. Through the Conference, Ngoc Linh ginseng is highlighted as a distinct value associated with cultural tourism products, agricultural tourism, and community tourism. Ensuring consistency, science, and flexibility in the direction between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the People's Committee of Kon Tum province, and the participation of relevant ministries, departments, and branches and provinces in the Central Highlands region; close coordination between the organizing agency and coordinating units.
