Promoting and linking tourism development in Da Nang

The conference aims to promote, advertise and introduce the beauty of "Land - Nature - Culture - People", the potential, strengths of products, services, typical tourist destinations, new tourism products of Lai Chau province to the majority of people and tourists in Da Nang city and the Central provinces. At the same time, strengthen the connection and cooperation in tourism development between Lai Chau province and Da Nang; create opportunities for tourism businesses to exchange information, build and exploit tour programs connecting Da Nang city to Lai Chau province and vice versa. Thereby stimulating demand and exchanging tourist markets between Lai Chau and Da Nang city; between Lai Chau and the Central provinces and cities in the coming time.

Conference to promote and advertise Lai Chau tourism in Da Nang in 2024 to link and connect tourism between the two localities of Lai Chau - Da Nang

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Tran Quang Khang - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lai Chau province, Lai Chau has great potential for tourism development. The province owns the top mountain peaks of Vietnam and Southeast Asia; along with many famous tourist destinations. Lai Chau is also a land rich in historical and cultural traditions throughout the development of the country; has a rich and diverse cultural identity of 20 ethnic groups living together; is a bridge between two famous tourist destinations of SaPa and Dien Bien Phu; the people are gentle, friendly and hospitable. In addition, the system of tourist accommodation facilities and tourism services of the province is increasingly perfected.

Despite its rich potential, Lai Chau tourism has not yet appeared much on the Vietnamese tourism map. “Through this conference, Lai Chau province hopes that businesses will share and propose solutions for tourism development linkages between the two localities in the coming time,” said Mr. Tran Quang Khang.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An - Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, the Conference on Promoting Lai Chau Tourism in Da Nang marks the cooperation of the tourism industry of the two localities through the Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lai Chau Province; Tourism Association of Da Nang City and Lai Chau. "We expect this cooperation to open up opportunities to develop tourism products, effectively exploiting the strengths of both localities. Ecotourism, adventure and indigenous culture in Lai Chau bring new and attractive experiences to the diverse source of visitors of Da Nang, including both local communities and international visitors here", Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An shared.

Mr. Ha Van Sieu - Deputy Director, Vietnam National Tourism Administration assessed that Lai Chau in particular and the Northwest in general have advantages and resources; there are many potential products for tourism development but exploitation is still limited. Da Nang City is a famous destination, Lai Chau province choosing Da Nang to promote tourism is the right thing to do, to diversify the source of visitors to Lai Chau province.

At the Conference, tourism service enterprises and travel agencies of Da Nang City and Lai Chau Province discussed solutions to promote and market tourism in Lai Chau and the tourist market in Da Nang; proposed proposals to develop the market and tourism products to bring tourists to Lai Chau. Representatives of the tourism industry of Da Nang City and Lai Chau Province also pledged to work together, creating favorable conditions for travel agencies and tourism service enterprises of the two localities to cooperate, exchange tourist sources, survey the market, implement tour programs and tourism activities in Lai Chau Province.

Da Nang tourism businesses give opinions on solutions to connect tours and create Lai Chau tourism products.

On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lai Chau province and the Department of Tourism of Da Nang city signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for the period 2025 - 2030. The Tourism Association of Lai Chau province and the Tourism Association of Da Nang city signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for the period 2025 - 2030.
