Under Operation Sindoor, the Indian army carried out precision strikes on nine alleged "terrorist bases" in Pakistan and Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.

Comparative satellite images released by US space technology company Maxar Technologies show significant structural damage at several key locations, specifically targeting the Jamia Mosque in Bahawalpur and inside the city of Muridke in Pakistan.

The Indian Army has carried out targeted strikes, destroying nine alleged terrorist bases belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen under "Operation Sindoor" across Pakistan and Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.

Specifically, the Indian Air Force carried out precision strikes on four locations inside Pakistani territory, while five other locations were targeted in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir. The Indian government asserted that the operation was "focused, controlled and non-escalatory" and deliberately avoided Pakistani military installations.

“Operation Sindoor” was carried out by three forces, the army, navy and air force, from Indian territory. The government said it exercised its right to neutralise the alleged terrorist elements after the attack in Phalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

According to a Pakistani security source, the air battle between Pakistani and Indian aircraft was one of the largest and longest in recent aviation history.

A total of 125 fighter jets fought for more than an hour, with neither side leaving its airspace and missile exchanges taking place at distances of up to more than 160 km.

According to the Times of India, speaking in the parliament a few hours after Operation Sindoor, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif praised the country's military for its "quick response" to the Indian attacks and claimed that they had shot down five of the neighboring country's aircraft. However, he did not provide any evidence to support this claim.

In parliament, Mr Sharif accused India of responding with “aggression” despite Pakistan’s call for a transparent international investigation into the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people. He said 80 Indian aircraft took part in the air strikes but Pakistan’s air defences effectively neutralised the threat. He claimed the Pakistani military had advance intelligence about India’s plans.

Pakistani officials also said at least 31 people were killed and dozens injured in Pakistan due to Indian air strikes.
