Ý Nhi is at a disadvantage when she "lost her hand" in many important sub-contests at Miss World.

Although she entered the 72nd Miss World confidently and with high expectations, the closer it gets to the finals, the more worried the beauty fan community becomes when she has not won any subsidiary awards.

The Vietnamese representative has continued to be absent from the Top 8 results of the Model competition.

The 72nd Miss World contest is entering the final stage with many important sub-contests announced. Recently, Vietnam representative Huynh Tran Y Nhi continued to be absent from the Top 8 results of the Model competition.

It can be said that Miss Ý Nhi's journey to conquer the crown is making fans worried when she was eliminated in most of the sub-competitions: Top 32 Miss World Sports, Top 24 Miss World Talents, Top 4 Head to Head Challenge and Top 8 Miss World Model. Ý Nhi only has a chance in the media competition (currently ranked 3rd). The contestant who wins this competition will go straight into the final Top 40.

Consecutive failures of Vietnamese representatives

Over the past few days, beauties from over 100 countries and territories around the world have gone through a series of activities and rounds within the framework of the contest. The 72nd Miss World is considered to have gathered a group of high-quality contestants with high education and professional skills.

In that fierce race, although the Vietnamese representative initially entered the competition well thanks to careful preparation in terms of costumes, skills and confident demeanor, the further they went, the more disadvantaged Y Nhi became when she "went empty-handed" in many important sub-rounds.

Last weekend, after the Top Model competition, the next 4 tickets to the Miss World Final were named representatives from India, Martinique, Ireland and Namibia. Of which, the representative of the host country India, beauty Nandini Gupta, won the Asia and Oceania region.

Aurélie Joachim from Martinique won the Top Model competition of the Americas and Caribbean region. And the owners of the two remaining tickets belong to Jasmine Gerhardt (Ireland) and Selma Kamanya (Namibia).

Unfortunately, Ý Nhi was not in the top 8 of this round. The failure of the Vietnamese representative at Top Model is putting her in a difficult position before the Final round which will take place on May 31.

The last chance for Ý Nhi to “come back” is the Multimedia Challenge, the competition in which Ý Nhi is holding 3rd place with a total score of about 460,000 (the beauty from Thailand is leading with a total of more than 1.1 million points; Sri Lanka is in second place).

Previously, at Miss World 2024, Vietnam's representative Mai Phuong also faced a similar situation when she continuously missed out on the secondary awards before the final night. Thanks to winning the secondary award of Miss Media, she won the last ticket to go straight to the top 40.

Does Y Nhi have a chance to "turn the tide"?

Starting her journey at Miss World, Y Nhi has received many expectations from beauty fans. Not only showing careful preparation in costumes, meticulous makeup and hair, Y Nhi also regularly updates new activities and images on her personal page and fanpage.

The Vietnamese representative also showed confidence, proactively connecting with the contestants of the contest, actively taking photos and giving souvenirs to other beauties. Ý Nhi's charisma and catwalk skills were commented to have improved a lot compared to before.

In the first stage of the competition, Ý Nhi maintained a stable performance, and was even ranked by Missosology as one of the top 10 potential candidates, along with France, South Africa, the Philippines, and Thailand (May 20). Ý Nhi was also highly rated by other beauty sites. However, as the final stage approached, Ý Nhi could no longer maintain her good performance.

To be able to “turn the tide” in the Finale, Ý Nhi needs to be mentally strong, in good form and break out with all her might in the final race. In addition, if Ý Nhi performs well in the closed interview round with the judges, she also has the ability to change the situation.

The “rules of the game” of Miss World this year have many changes when the organizers will select the Top 40, including 10 beauties from each continent such as Africa, Europe, Asia and Oceania, America and the Caribbean. From the Top 10 of each continent, the Top 5 and Top 2 will continue to be selected. Each continent will have one winner and one runner-up. After that, the Top 2 of each continent will compete to select 4 beauties to win the continental titles, and this is also the final Top 4 to select the Miss title and 3 runners-up.

It can be said that the most different and attractive thing about the Miss World “arena” compared to other beauty pageants is that the results are unpredictable until the last minute. Therefore, Y Nhi still has a chance and the contest still has many surprises waiting ahead./.

In another development, the 72nd Miss World organizing committee was suddenly caught up in a scandal: contestant Milla Magee (24 years old, representative from the UK) suddenly withdrew midway through the pageant and the British media simultaneously reported shocking news when Milla said she was treated disrespectfully at Miss World and asked to "entertain guests."

On the evening of May 24, under pressure from the international media and online community, the Miss World organization officially issued a statement in response. Accordingly, the President and CEO of Miss World, Ms. Julia Morley, said that Milla Magee had proactively withdrawn from the contest in early May due to the health of her mother. The organizing committee immediately arranged for Milla to return home, putting the safety and welfare of the contestant first.

After Milla withdrew, 1st runner-up Charlotte Grant was chosen as her replacement and is already in India to continue her journey to represent the UK at Miss World 2025.
