Yen Chau launches mango packaging campaign in 2025

On April 28, in Tu Nang commune, Yen Chau district People's Committee organized the launching ceremony of mango packaging for consumption and export in 2025. Attending the launching ceremony were leaders of the provincial Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection; leaders of Yen Chau district; representatives of communes, towns, and cooperatives participating in mango production and consumption in the district.

Yen Chau district has over 3,340 hectares of mango; in 2025, the expected fruit output will reach 24,990 tons, mainly round mango, stinky mango, Australian, Taiwanese (GL4) varieties. Of which, 207 hectares are certified VietGAP, GlobalGAP, organic; 298 hectares are granted growing area codes for export to markets in China, Australia, the US, and New Zealand. There are 307.7 hectares of mango recognized for high-tech application. Most mango growers apply science and technology in care, monitoring and managing growing area codes and electronic diaries in production; invest in modern preliminary processing and processing systems; promote the application of automatic irrigation systems, production according to safe processes; especially actively apply the fruit wrapping method to improve product quality.

In 2025, Yen Chau district strives to consume 19,900 tons domestically and export 5,000 tons of mangoes. The district will strengthen monitoring activities for mango areas recognized for high-tech application, areas granted VietGAP, and growing area codes; provide training to improve capacity for managing production and business activities for cooperatives; update and provide market forecast information to orient production organization, support export consumption of mango products; support cooperatives and individuals to invest and develop preliminary processing and processing facilities to reduce pressure on fresh fruit consumption; call for and link with businesses consuming mango products in the area...

Immediately after the launching ceremony, delegates started practicing fruit bagging, starting the fruit bagging movement in the whole district, striving for the 2025 crop year, to achieve the target of over 80% of mango area being covered with fruit.

Yen Chau District People's Committee has directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Agricultural Service Center to guide people on effective fruit bagging techniques, how to choose bags suitable for each mango variety, helping the fruit increase its ability to photosynthesize, convert pigments, thereby helping to increase weight, make the fruit have beautiful colors, ensure productivity and quality of fruit for consumption and export.
