However, among the thousands of languages in the world, only a certain number are widely used by people in daily life. Below are the 10 most commonly used languages in the world, according to a report recently published by the market research company Statista (Germany).
10. Urdu
Urdu is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. However, it is only the official language in two countries, Pakistan and India. Both countries are home to the majority of the world's Urdu-speaking population. Most of the Urdu-speaking people in India reside in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Jharkhand.
9. Russian
Russian is one of the six official languages recognized by the United Nations and is the second most popular language on the Internet, after English.
The number of people using this language is about 258 million people worldwide, mainly distributed in Russia. Next are countries including Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Baltic, Caucasus, Mongolia, Israel and Central Asia...
With its origins in the Indo-European language family, Russian is considered the largest native language in Europe.
8. Portuguese

4. Spanish
