Trial of many major cases in the securities field

2024 witnessed a series of major cases brought to trial, notably 3 major cases in the securities sector. In the Tan Hoang Minh case, Mr. Do Anh Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tan Hoang Minh Group, was identified as the mastermind in issuing bonds, mobilizing and appropriating more than 8,600 billion VND from over 6,600 investors and using capital for the wrong purpose. In the Van Thinh Phat case, defendant Truong My Lan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Van Thinh Phat Group, was identified as appropriating more than 677,000 billion VND from Saigon Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SCB). Ms. Lan used SCB as a financial tool, mobilizing capital from organizations and individuals, then used many tricks, creating fake loan documents, increasing the price of collateral... to withdraw money from SCB.

The case of fraud, appropriation of assets, and manipulation of the stock market occurred at FLC Group, the mastermind was Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of FLC Group. With the charges of fraud, appropriation of assets, and manipulation of the stock market, Mr. Quyet was determined to have appropriated and illegally profited about 4,300 billion VND.
