105 students support digital transformation in wards and communes in Da Nang

On the morning of August 18, the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City organized a ceremony to send off 105 students majoring in Information Technology (IT) to support IT application and digital transformation in communes and wards in the city.

This activity is part of the plan issued by the People's Committee of Da Nang City on August 11, aiming to promote the application of IT in the activities of local governments, especially in the settlement of administrative procedures for people and businesses.

According to the review, there are currently 69 wards and communes in need of IT support. In the first phase (from August 18 to 25), 105 volunteer students from Vietnam - Korea University of Information Technology and Communications (VKU),FPT University and Duy Tan University were assigned to 44 wards and communes to provide practical support.

Previously, thousands of union members and youths in Da Nang volunteered to support the operation of the two-level local government model in 94 administrative units at the commune and ward levels.

At the local level, students are responsible for assisting officials and civil servants in handling technical problems related to computers, networks, and office equipment; providing guidance on the use of management software, online public service systems, and AI tools in administration. In addition, students also directly support people and businesses in using equipment at public administration centers, providing guidance on online application submission, result lookup, use of personal digital signatures, and exploitation of digital platforms such as Danang Smart City, VNeID, etc.
