Representatives of 135 colleges and universities attended the P2A Annual Conference (P2A AGM) at Duy Tan University, together proposing solutions for connection and academic exchange.
This is an annual event, this year is the 7th time, taking place on November 16-19. Schools aim to come up with many practical initiatives to increase opportunities for connection, academic exchange, entrepreneurship for students and contribute to solving life problems, especially when artificial intelligence (AI) has many great impacts on human life.
With the participation of 135 schools in the ASEAN community, the conference provided orientation for the next phase, including projects on developing vocational skills and creative startups; academic exchanges, research support, internship and work support in ASEAN countries; and humanitarian activities for community development.

Meritorious teacher Le Cong Co - Chairman of the Duy Tan University Council said that since 2012, the activity has attracted thousands of students from different countries to participate. By early 2020, P2A was recognized as a network belonging to ASEAN. At this 7th meeting, the organization will enter a 10-year period, from student exchanges to exchanges between teachers, lecturers and researchers.
"In the era of technological development, we need to cooperate more in training and research to respond to global issues such as climate change or master technology as AI becomes more and more powerful," he added.

Mr. Jeroen Schedler - Director of Strategic Planning and Development of P2A, Assistant Principal of Internationalization, Rangsit University also affirmed that P2A has united units in a strong partnership over the years. The gift the organization gives to students is the ability to connect and meet to fulfill their dreams in study and life. "We build the P2A network based on trust and passion," he emphasized.
At the conference, many experts gave presentations and offered many highly applicable solutions.
In which, Dr. Ethel Agnes Pascua-Valenzuela - Education Advisor of Future Education , ASEAN Secretariat presented on "The Future of Education and Academic Exchange in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization"; Mr. Lim Teng Leng - Acting Director of P2A for External Affairs, International Relations Department, Temasek Polytechnic (Singapore) reported on P2A Student Exchange Programs...
At the same time, representatives from the schools also shared about P2A student work, the future of student exchange in the ASEAN bloc in the face of challenges and opportunities, and at the same time, proposed a new program for 2024. Accordingly, many programs will be implemented next year.
Specifically, the ASEAN Citizenship Program aims to enhance students’ understanding of ASEAN member states. The ASEAN Research Network can provide a platform for P2A members to share ideas, knowledge and enhance research capacity of faculty and students. The ASEAN SkillsFuture Hub creates a community focused on building knowledge, skills and capacity in digitalization, greening and entrepreneurship. The organization also announced the World EXPO Osaka Program to take place in 2025.

Representing the host of the 7th P2A AGM, Dr. Le Nguyen Tue Hang - Vice President of Duy Tan University, shared that the pandemic has created many challenges because student exchange programs are all international trips. However, in fact, the organization has grown stronger during the pandemic through many different communication and contact channels. P2A has organized more activities for students in ASEAN, even more than before the pandemic. The current number of members has also doubled compared to the time of the pandemic.
"I believe that if we want to go steadily and further, we should go together. P2A has become stronger during the pandemic and has come this far thanks to solidarity, commitment and great care for each other," she affirmed.
P2A was established in 2012 with five initial members: Rangsit University (Thailand), Duy Tan University (Vietnam), Norton University (Cambodia), Myanmar Computer Science Institute and National University of Laos. In 2023, P2A will have three more schools joining the organization, bringing the total number of members to 135, including: National College of Science and Technology (Philippines), Mapua Malayan Laguna College (Philippines) and Saigon Business School (SBS).
