On September 24, Mr. Tran Hot Lai, Principal of Kien Hai Secondary and High School (Hon Tre Commune, Kien Hai District, Kien Giang Province), said that 16 students of the school had to go to a medical facility for treatment due to suspected food poisoning.
According to initial information on the afternoon of September 23, some students began to have symptoms such as fever, nausea, stomachache, diarrhea suspected of food poisoning and went to the Kien Hai District Medical Center for examination and treatment. In addition, some other students bought medicine for treatment.
Students of Kien Hai Secondary and High School, Kien Giang province were hospitalized for suspected food poisoning.
By the morning of September 24, 12 students from Kien Hai Secondary and High School were admitted to Kien Hai District Medical Center for treatment. One student had low blood pressure, so Kien Hai District Medical Center transferred him to Kien Giang Provincial General Hospital for treatment; 3 students were transferred to the mainland by their families, while the remaining students continued to stay at the District Medical Center with basically stable health conditions.
By this afternoon (September 24), 4 other students from the school continued to report symptoms of suspected poisoning such as fever, nausea, diarrhea, and stomachache, etc., and went to a medical facility for treatment.
The principal of Kien Hai Secondary and High School added that on the morning of the same day (September 24), a working group from the Kien Hai District health sector coordinated with the school cafeteria to collect food samples to send to the province for testing, to find the cause of food poisoning.
A parent whose child was hospitalized said that after breakfast at the Kien Hai Secondary and High School cafeteria on the morning of September 23, in the afternoon of the same day, his child had a stomachache, nausea, and diarrhea...
