A remarkable mark in the process of international integration
On the morning of August 10, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, the first Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition - VILOG 2023 opened.
The exhibition is a key event of the industry with an impressive scale spanning over 5,500 square meters, displaying 345 booths of 250 enterprises from 22 countries and territories. With the active support of the Import-Export Department ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), the combination of the Vietnam Logistics Service Association (VLA) and the professional organizer - VINEXAD Company, VILOG 2023 promises to be the leading event in the industry.

Speaking at the opening of the Exhibition, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai - Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) - said: "Vietnam Logistics International Exhibition 2023" is organized to implement the tasks set by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 221/QD-TTg dated February 22, 2021 amending and supplementing Decision No. 200/QD-TTg dated February 14, 2017 on approving the Action Plan to improve competitiveness and develop Vietnam's logistics services by 2025.
According to Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, the fact that Vietnam has its first large-scale international logistics exhibition is a remarkable milestone in the international integration process of Vietnam's logistics service industry. This is an indispensable activity for the industry to promote, connect, and introduce itself to the world; it is a great opportunity for domestic and international logistics service enterprises as well as the community of investors, cargo owners and other stakeholders to introduce products, exchange, cooperate, consult and choose solutions to optimize the logistics process of enterprises.

In particular, this year's Exhibition is co-organized with the Cross-Border E-Commerce Exhibition in Vietnam (CBEE) - expected to create opportunities to promote connections and cooperation between businesses in the industry, contributing to the growth of e-commerce in general and logistics serving e-commerce in particular.

Logistics is identified as an important service industry in the overall structure of the national economy, playing a supporting, connecting and promoting socio-economic development of the whole country as well as each locality, contributing to improving the competitiveness of the economy.

In recent years, Vietnam's logistics industry has made significant progress with an average growth rate of 14 - 16%/year, with a scale of 40 - 42 billion USD/year. The number of enterprises and the quality of logistics services are increasing, contributing significantly to the highest import and export results ever of 732.5 billion USD in 2022, affirming Vietnam's important position on the international trade map. This is the result of the efforts of logistics service enterprises and the Government in creating a business environment, improving the competitiveness of enterprises in the economy in general and the logistics service sector in particular; as well as efforts to improve from the enterprises themselves.
However, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai said that Vietnam's logistics industry still has many weaknesses such as high logistics costs; lack of connection between logistics service enterprises with each other and with production, business, import-export enterprises; the scale and financial potential of Vietnamese logistics enterprises are still weak, and the expansion into foreign markets is still insignificant...
Therefore, this exhibition event aims to become a platform to gather logistics enterprises, government departments, training and research institutions and stakeholders to share knowledge, display the latest trends and updates in the logistics field.
The exciting highlight of VILOG 2023 revolves around the groundbreaking applications of logistics technology. This unique event offers visitors an immersive experience, allowing them to access the latest advances in logistics technology and equipping businesses with the tools to revolutionize the management and circulation of goods. The seminars and talks are led by prestigious experts from relevant associations and government agencies, providing an opportunity to learn more about the constantly innovating and developing logistics industry.
VILOG 2023 Exhibition introduces the most advanced products, services and technologies of the logistics industry with main product and service groups including: Transportation - Delivery; Warehousing - Cold chain; Packaging equipment - Technology; Logistics technology application; Other support services. The exhibition will last until August 12, 2023 and is expected to attract over 20,000 visitors. |
