Viet Duc, 108 Military and Hong Ngoc hospitals have just been awarded certificates of global standard surgical training centers by the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS).

To achieve this certification, the three hospitals had to pass examinations and evaluate their records according to the criteria of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Previously, this inspection unit also visited and worked at Viet Duc, Military 108 and Hong Ngoc hospitals. The evaluation criteria included facilities, human resources, training and surgical capabilities of each hospital.

Mr. Salim Nazir, Head of Quality Assurance of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, said that this is an important program, implemented for the first time in Vietnam. Achieving the surgical training certificate is a testament to the efforts, prestige in professional quality and the team of surgeons meeting international standards of all 3 units. It opens up opportunities to transfer major techniques, especially in the fields of skull, maxillofacial and pediatrics from developed countries to Vietnam.

"This milestone also gives the hospital's doctors the opportunity to participate in international training programs, contributing to improving the professional capacity of centers in Vietnam. In addition, the partner will also send young doctors to Vietnam to learn and exchange in fields in which Vietnam has a lot of experience," said Mr. Salim Nazir.

Mr. Van Tuan Nhat - Deputy General Director of Hong Ngoc Hospital, said that this is an important event not only for central hospitals but also for private hospitals like Hong Ngoc. "Hopefully, the above cooperation will bring better exchange opportunities between the Vietnamese and British health sectors," said Mr. Nhat.

The Royal College of Surgeons of England was founded over 200 years ago. RCS has become one of the oldest surgical training centers in the world and has a team of leading experts, meeting global standards in surgical practice.
