It has been more than 4 months since the 3 fire prevention and fighting martyrs - Cau Giay District Police, Hanoi , sacrificed their lives while on duty, their relatives are still in pain.
Sharing with VietNamNet, Mr. Do Van Tu, father of martyr Do Duc Viet said: "How can I get over it? It's a huge void that will take a long time to fill."
"My wife still cries every time she sees a picture of her child. There were only a few people in the house, but meals and chores were always complete, warm, and we gathered together. Many times we tried to hold back, restrain ourselves, and not want to recall the memories... to lessen the pain.
November 24 is Viet's birthday. His friends and teammates bought birthday cakes, bought flowers... to celebrate in memory of him. We know they miss Viet, but we are still heartbroken," Mr. Tu confided.
Mr. Do Van Tu confided: "The deceased is already deceased, it cannot be retrieved, but the affection of all the leaders of the Party, State, city and people nationwide makes the family very emotional."
Senior Lieutenant Do Duc Viet's father, Mr. Do Van Tu, also worked in the police force. Since he was a child, admiring his father, Viet was determined to follow his father's career, to become a soldier on the front line against the fire, protecting a peaceful life. Sharing with us, Ms. Nguyen Thu Huyen, wife of martyr Dang Anh Quan, could not hide her emotions. "Everyone has returned to normal life, but my heart is still heavy with loss. On behalf of the family, I would like to thank everyone for their encouragement and sharing during the most difficult times. My mother and I overcame the shock partly thanks to everyone's encouragement," Ms. Huyen said. Since Mr. Quan sacrificed, she has become the pillar of the family. While taking care of her office work, she took care of her mother and two children on behalf of her husband. The year-end work is so busy, from big to small tasks, she rolled up her sleeves and took care of her husband...
The pain of loss has not yet subsided for Ms. Tran Thi Thuy - mother of Lieutenant Colonel Dang Anh Quan. She still maintains the small tea shop by Lang Lake, partly to earn more income, partly to ease the emptiness, and to think less about the filial son who has worked hard with his mother for many years to take care of the family, helping his mother raise her younger sister until adulthood. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Hanh, mother of martyr Nguyen Dinh Phuc, shared: Although the family is very sad about what happened to her son, this is the duty and job Phuc chose. "Before going to do his duty, Phuc passed the university entrance exam and was very good at English. When he went to do his duty, Phuc became much more mature, thought more about his mother, and took care of her more," Ms. Hanh said sadly. When Phuc was still with his mother, Mrs. Hanh said that Phuc often shared and said that joining the army was not the end of his studies. Phuc chose to join the army and do firefighting because he loved this job. "Therefore, Phuc often volunteered to do the duty whenever there was a job," Mrs. Hanh said. "What mother wouldn't be heartbroken when losing her child, but I am proud of my child, my child sacrificed but many people won their lives," Mrs. Hanh choked up.
Talking about the three fallen comrades, Colonel Pham Trung Hieu, Head of the Hanoi Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, was moved: "These are comrades who have been trained, are excellent officers, passionate and always enthusiastic in their work". Talking about the passing of the three firefighters, Director of Hanoi Police Nguyen Hai Trung expressed: "No matter how much is said, how much is written, how many beautiful words are used, it is impossible to fully express the noble sacrifice and pure dignity of the firefighters". The head of the city police also shared with sorrow: "Although we know that people have a destiny, everyone must die, but the deaths of comrades have given life to many others; as the poem says "there is death that turns into immortality", "to live is to give, to die is also to give". So the comrades will live forever in the hearts of their relatives, comrades, teammates and all those with conscience and dignity".
