48 groups and individuals received certificates of merit from the programs "Godmother" and "Accompanying women in the border areas"

BTO-On the morning of May 27, the Provincial Women's Union (PPU) held a summary of 5 years of implementing the "Godmother" and "Accompanying women in border areas" programs, period 2021 - 2025.

Attending the event were Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong - Vice President of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, representatives of leaders of mass organizations, the Provincial Border Guard and grassroots associations in 10 districts, towns, cities, and the Women's Association of the Armed Forces.

Ms. Le Thi Hai Yen - President of the Provincial Women's Union highly appreciated the creativity and coordination of the units and grassroots organizations in implementing the two programs.

The "Godmother" program was launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union in October 2021 to call on and mobilize cadres, members, women nationwide, organizations and individuals at home and abroad to promote the spirit of "Mutual love", join hands to sponsor, nurture and support orphans in difficult circumstances, especially orphans affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, creating motivation and helping them have more support in their journey to grow up and mature.

As a bridge, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has played a good role in connecting and mobilizing agencies, units, businesses and individuals to join hands and accompany the "Godmother" program to care for children every day in terms of health, psychology, emotions... through a network of cadres, members and women. Up to now, 1,355 orphans have been monitored and their circumstances clearly understood by the Women's Union at all levels. Of which, 345 orphans have been sponsored by the Union at all levels, with the sponsorship period ranging from 1 year to 18 years old, with support ranging from 100,000 - 500,000 VND/child/month.

The program "Accompanying women in the border areas" was carried out in Ham Tan.

The program "Accompanying women in the border areas" was launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and the Border Guard Command in 2018, phase 2 from 2021 to 2025. In Binh Thuan alone, implementing the program, the Provincial Border Guard Command and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union have proactively developed a plan to disseminateand educate the law to officials and people in the coastal border areas of the province. Mobilizing businesses and philanthropists, allocating funds to increase production and contributions from officials and members of the Provincial Women's Union, officials and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard.

Every year, the two agencies continue to effectively implement the campaign "Supporting the construction and repair of charity homes" for poor, single, disabled women and women in especially difficult circumstances. Coordinate the launch of the movement "Women follow Uncle Ho's teachings, practice thrift to help each other sustainably reduce poverty". At the same time, more than 12,000 gifts, 1.5 tons of rice are presented to policy families, poor households, member families, disadvantaged women, 195 scholarships for poor but studious students, and disabled children...

The Provincial Women's Union awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the activities of the two programs.

At the conference to summarize the two programs, the Provincial Women's Union awarded certificates of merit to 12 collectives and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the "Godmother" program; 13 collectives and 13 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the program "Accompanying women in the border areas", period 2021 - 2025.
