Vietnam team competes in the International Physics Olympiad in 2024
3 Silver Medals went to: Nguyen Nhat Minh , 12th grade student , High School for the Gifted, University of Science , Vietnam National University, Hanoi ; Ha Duyen Phuc , 12th grade student, Lam Son High School for the Gifted, Thanh Hoa province ; Nguyen Thanh Duy , 12th grade student, Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong city .
The 54th International Physics Olympiad will be held in Iran from July 21 to July 29, 2024.
According to the regulations of the IPhO Council 2024, the exam consists of 1 theoretical exam and 1 practical exam. Each exam lasts 5 hours. This year's exam is considered interesting and difficult, the content of the theoretical and practical exams are closely related to real life and touch on the applications of modern science and technology. To achieve the Gold Medal, candidates must be in the top 8% of candidates with the highest scores.
Introducing the Vietnam team at the IPhO 2024 Opening Ceremony
With 100% of students winning medals, including 2 Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals, the Vietnamese delegation is among the countries with the highest results at the 2024 International Physics Olympiad. This year's results are also better than in 2023 (in 2023, the Vietnamese team won 2 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze Medal).
This year, Vietnamese students' practical exam scores have improved significantly compared to AphO and IPhO exams in recent years.
The outstanding achievements of the Vietnamese national team at IPhO 2024 continue to affirm the quality of general education. At the same time, it affirms the right direction in the work of discovering, selecting and nurturing excellent students of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The IPhO 2024 Organizing Committee will hold the Closing and Award Ceremony on July 28, 2024, starting at 9:00 (Iran time).
