50 elderly people from the mountains came to the city to attend a conference and were encouraged to return.

(Dan Tri) - About 50 elderly people in a mountainous district in Nghe An were transported by a unit in 2 cars to Vinh city to attend a conference. Authorities were present to persuade the elderly to return.

On March 11, information from the People's Committee of Quang Trung Ward (Vinh City, Nghe An), the locality is assigning functional forces to work with the unit to bring the elderly to the headquarters located in the area to organize seminars and sell products.

Earlier, on the morning of March 10, a number of elderly people, many of whom wore ethnic minority costumes, gathered in front of the headquarters of the MA Community Health Care Center, located in Quang Trung ward.

Initial information shows that these elderly people were brought from another locality to attend the conference. Concerned that the elderly were being tricked into buying health care products at high prices, people reported it to the local authorities.

"Upon receiving the people's feedback, the Ward People's Committee directed the police to coordinate with relevant units to be present and verify specific information. There were about 50 elderly people residing in Anh Son district, transported in 2 cars here to attend the conference.

By the time the authorities arrived, the elderly had been offered and were preparing to buy health care products and functional foods. We have been propagandizing and persuading the elderly to return," the leader of Quang Trung ward shared.

In addition to encouraging the elderly to return, the Quang Trung ward government also requested the workshop organizer to provide relevant documents. However, at this time, only the staff is at the headquarters, the owner of the facility is in Hanoi .

According to a local leader, in the immediate future, the ward will clarify the matter of this unit gathering a large number of people and organizing events but not reporting to the authorities.

Regarding the activities of introducing and selling products as well as the quality of products introduced and sold to customers, the local authorities will work with the owner of the facility when this person returns.
