560 candidates entered the official exam day of the 25th International Mathematics Competition

*Hundreds of candidates arrived at the Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communications Technology, Danang University early to prepare for the official exam day.*

Since the morning of August 16, hundreds of candidates have been present at the Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communications Technology, Danang University, to prepare for the official exam day, which will determine the results of their studies and training over the past months.

The competition is organized according to the international standards of the International Mathematics Competition (IMC), including two groups: Key Stage II (grades 5-6) and Key Stage III (grades 7-8). Each student participates in two compulsory rounds: an individual round and a team round.

In the individual round, candidates compete in two exams: EMIC (15 questions, maximum total of 150 points, 90 minutes) and IWYMIC (15 questions, maximum total of 120 points, 120 minutes).

In the team round, each team of 4 contestants solves 10 problems in 70 minutes, in a form of close teamwork. The maximum total score for this round is 400 points.

The organization and supervision of the exam are carried out strictly according to international standards. Each exam room is assigned 2 invigilators who have been thoroughly trained by the Organizing Committee. The official exam questions are selected and compiled in accordance with the proposals sent by the professional committees of the participating countries.

The work of marking, entering scores and reviewing results was carried out continuously on August 16 and 17. On August 18, the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the 25th International Mathematics Competition - VIMC 2025 will take place.

It is known that the awards are given at three levels: individual, team and group. In which, the individual awards include: Gold, Silver, Bronze medals or Certificates of Encouragement awarded in the ratio of 1:2:3:4, respectively, based on the number of candidates in each group.

The team prize is the total score of the entire team ranked. In each group there is 1 champion, 2 runners-up, 3 third places, with additional points from the most difficult question in case of a tie. The overall group prize is calculated based on the total score of both the individual round and the team round.
