6 Simple Ways to Have Healthy White Teeth

Báo Gia đình và Xã hộiBáo Gia đình và Xã hội28/12/2024

Healthy white teeth are not only aesthetically appealing, making us more confident, but also reflect good health.

Several simple, natural remedies can keep teeth and gums healthy, reduce bacterial growth and promote good oral hygiene.

Here are some ways to maintain healthy white teeth:

1. Brushing your teeth regularly helps keep them white and healthy.

Brushing your teeth every day is the most important thing you can do to keep your teeth white. If you don't brush regularly, be sure to start now. If you brush every day but your teeth are still yellow, try brushing more often, especially after eating or drinking (since food and drink can cause teeth to turn yellow). However, don't brush your teeth right after eating or drinking acidic foods or drinks, as this can lead to tooth erosion.

To brighten your smile, try using a whitening toothpaste. These toothpastes use mild abrasives that can help remove stubborn stains from the surface of your teeth. However, if you experience any problems using these toothpastes, you should consult your dentist.

2. Use herbs to kill bacteria

Spices used in cooking can also be effective oral hygiene tools. According to Ayurveda (Indian medicine), a specific spice mixture acts as a natural tooth cleaner. Accordingly, ingredients such as cloves, cinnamon and cardamom have strong antibacterial properties. These spices help remove plaque, prevent tooth decay and kill harmful bacteria.

Mix a small amount of these ground spices with water to form a paste, then gently rub it on your teeth and gums.

3. Oil pulling

Oil pulling is a traditional Indian method of teeth whitening. This technique also aims to remove toxins and microorganisms from the mouth, helping to improve oral health. Any type of oil can be used for oil pulling, but sunflower oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, etc. are the most commonly used.

Oil pulling helps remove harmful bacteria from your mouth, reduces plaque, reduces inflammation, and can even whiten your teeth over time. To do oil pulling, take a spoonful of oil and swish it around in your mouth for 10-15 minutes, then spit it out.

4. Tongue cleaning

Tongue cleaning helps improve breath and whiten teeth.

The tongue is an area that is often overlooked when cleaning the mouth. Bacteria and food particles can build up on the surface of the tongue, leading to bad breath and poor oral health. To remove any buildup, gently scrape from the back of the tongue to the front with a tongue scraper (stainless steel or copper).

This simple habit not only improves breath but also prevents the formation of bacteria, which can lead to dental problems, helping to keep teeth healthy and white.

5. Rub banana, orange or lemon peel

To do this “trick,” take a banana, orange, or lemon peel and gently rub it on your teeth. Continue rubbing for about 2 minutes, then rinse your mouth and brush your teeth. The peels of these fruits contain citric acid, which theoretically whitens teeth.

If you are experiencing problems with sensitivity, weak or worn enamel, this remedy should not be used.

6. Chew Neem leaves to clean teeth naturally

Neem leaves contain antibacterial properties that help fight plaque buildup and prevent gum disease. Chewing neem leaves acts as a natural toothbrush. A study published in 2015 found that regular brushing with a neem-containing toothpaste reduced plaque buildup, prevented cavities, and enhanced immune response, all of which benefit overall oral health.

Neem has antibacterial chemicals that help clean teeth, prevent bad breath and limit the formation of harmful bacteria. Just chewing a fresh neem twig has a natural cleaning effect on teeth and gums.
