The benchmark scores for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025 tend to decrease sharply, even at top schools.
Of which, Nguyen Thi Dieu High School reduced its benchmark score the most, by 4.75 points. Next was Gia Dinh High School, which reduced its score by 4.25 points, and Cu Chi High School, which reduced its score by 4 points. Three schools, Ngo Gia Tu, Tan Tuc and Nguyen Hien, all reduced their benchmark scores by 3.5 points.
According to quick statistics, 77/108 schools reduced their benchmark scores (accounting for 71.3%), an increase of more than 15% compared to last year.

In 2024, 60 out of 107 schools will also reduce their benchmark scores (accounting for 56.07%). The benchmark score will decrease by 0.25-2.25 points depending on the school. Phuoc Long High School will have the biggest decrease from 18.5 to 16.25.

On the other hand, Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School ranked first in terms of increase with 4.5 points. Following were Tran Khai Nguyen and Ngo Quyen High Schools, both increasing by 1.25 points.
Four high schools Tay Thanh, Binh Phu, Vo Truong Toan and Giong Ong To all increased by 0.75 points.

This year, 11 schools kept their benchmark scores the same, accounting for 10.2%.

According to the original plan, from 3:00 p.m. on June 26 to 4:00 p.m. on July 1, candidates will confirm online admission to high schools of all remaining types at: https://ts10.hcm.edu.vn
Before 10:00 a.m. on June 28, the Department of Education and Training will collect the secondary school review records and submit them to the Examination and Quality Control Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.
From July 3-10, successful candidates in all types of admission will complete the admission procedures directly at the confirmed high school through the online system. The Department notes that if parents and students do not complete the admission procedures, the candidates will be considered removed from the admission list.
The review results are expected to be announced on July 11.
From July 12-14, additional admission will be considered for cases that passed the review.
From July 15 to no later than 5:00 p.m. on July 17, submit additional admission applications in all categories.
From July 20-21, high schools will report on the status of admitted students submitting their applications. On July 22, high schools will report on the need and number of additional 10th grade students (if any).
