81 billion VND invested in drainage infrastructure from Bau Tram area to Cu De river

DNO - The City People's Committee has just decided to invest 81 billion VND to improve drainage capacity for Bau Tram Lake area (including Hoa Khanh Industrial Park and neighboring residential areas), Lien Chieu district.

Specifically, the City People's Committee issued Decision No. 1816/QD-UBND dated June 16, 2025 on approving the investment project to build a new project and renovate the drainage system in Lien Chieu district - Canal route from Bau Tram lake to Hoa Khanh - Cu De canal with a total investment of nearly 81 billion VND.

Specifically, the stormwater drainage project includes the construction of an open canal with a total length of about 554m. The project will also extend the existing stormwater drainage lines connecting to the canal. At the same time, the existing sewer across Me Linh Street will be dismantled and a new sewer will be built to replace it.

The project’s wastewater drainage section includes the construction of a self-flowing and pressurized wastewater pipeline system. In addition, a penstock is also designed to connect from the pumping station to ensure the complete wastewater drainage system of the entire route.

In addition to the wastewater pipeline system, the project will build 9 separation wells, at the same time, invest in building parks and green areas in accordance with the 1/500 scale master plan approved by the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District. The scope of the project includes leveling, walking paths, playgrounds, green trees and irrigation systems, contributing to improving the landscape and quality of life in the area.

The project also includes the construction of an underground low-voltage power line system along the Me Linh culvert.

The Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects of the City is the host unit, responsible for coordinating with relevant agencies to organize the implementation of the project in accordance with regulations, and at the same time fully implement the recommendations and notes of the Department of Construction. After completion, the Management Board is responsible for handing over the project items to the management and operation units.

Specifically, the Department of Construction, the Urban Infrastructure Management Center and the Drainage and Wastewater Treatment Company will receive items related to the drainage system; meanwhile, the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District or local authorities at the ward and commune levels will receive and manage items related to trees, walkways, and irrigation systems.
