95.2% of the population has health insurance

According to information from the Ministry of Finance, by the end of June 2025, the number of people participating in social insurance reached 20.78 million people, reaching a coverage rate of 44% of the working-age workforce, an increase of 2.469 million people compared to the same period last year.

The number of people participating in voluntary insurance reached 16.42 million, reaching a coverage rate of 34.8% of the working-age workforce, an increase of 1.451 million people over the same period last year. The number of people participating in health insurance reached 96.46 million, reaching a coverage rate of 95.2% of the population, an increase of 4.333 million people over the same period last year.

Accumulated to the end of June 2025, revenue from the above 3 types of insurance reached 293.3 trillion VND, reaching 50.24% of the assigned plan, up 22.01% over the same period last year.

Also in the first 6 months of the year, the entire system has resolved new social insurance benefits for about 61,673 people receiving monthly pension, death, work accident - occupational disease benefits. Received and paid for 337,345 people receiving unemployment benefits, down 22.23% compared to the same period in 2024, 8,183 people receiving vocational training support, down 5.16% compared to the same period in 2024.
