On April 22, the Miss Universe Organizing Committee officially announced the revocation of the title of 3rd Runner-up Miss Universe 2024 of Thai beauty Suchata Chuangsri.
The decision was made after discovering that the former copyright holder in Thailand - TPN Global - had violated regulations by sending a contestant who had won the title of Miss Universe to participate in another beauty pageant while still in office. This action was considered a violation of contractual obligations and internal regulations, affecting the "solemnity and professionalism" of the organization.
"The title of Miss Universe is not only an honor but also a responsibility. We expect the winners to fulfill their obligations throughout their tenure," the Organizing Committee said in a statement.
The decision has caused controversy in the international beauty community. Some argue that the title of third runner-up does not have as strong legal binding as the title of beauty queen - the official representative of the organization worldwide.
On the same day, the copyright agency in Thailand confirmed that Suchata will represent the country at Miss World 2025, held in May in India.

The 1.8m tall 21-year-old beauty from Bangkok graduated from Thammasat University with a degree in International Relations and runs a hotel business in Phuket. She is fluent in four languages: Thai, English, Spanish and Mandarin. At Miss Universe 2024, she made an impression with her stable performance, attractive demeanor and intelligent behavior and finished as the third runner-up.
Suchata is currently implementing the Love charity project - focusing on renovating old schools, adding books to libraries and providing free meals to disadvantaged children in preparation for Miss World 2025.
