After being reborn in 2023, British sports car manufacturer AC Cars is back with a new model, the AC GT Supersport. Based on the regular GT Roadster, the new model is exclusive to the US market. The car combines the iconic Cobra design with the ultimate performance of a supercar and AC plans to limit production to just 25 GT SuperSports. For the first time on a modern AC Cobra-based car, the GT SuperSport features a large fixed rear wing, giving the rear wheels better grip.
This wing doesn't really fit the classic body shape and design, but it does help improve stability. It also has a small rear diffuser, special side skirts, and a custom front fascia with an enlarged grille. Technical details on the new model are still limited, although the company says customers can customize it to get up to 1,025 horsepower from the upgraded V8 engine. Notably, the car has a series of aerodynamic upgrades to complement the superior power.
Despite its power, the AC GT SuperSport is still a super light car due to its extreme minimalism. It even retains a convertible design with almost no protective frame for the occupants except for the hoops behind the head. "It is fitting that we launch our most powerful model yet with AC Cars America, and the AC GT SuperSport will affirm its status as a true icon of the automotive industry," said AC Cars CEO David Conza. “Despite the comprehensive design overhaul, there is no denying the car’s roots and we are ready to unlock its true potential,” added AC Cars boss David Conza.
Deliveries to customers will begin in 2027, with each AC GT Supersport priced at $550,000 (equivalent to about VND 14.38 billion). Video : Introducing the AC GT Supersport convertible supercar.
