The 37 donated houses were raised from the online race "Run for a Million Trusts" launched by Agribank from April 7-13, 2025 on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of Agribank's establishment. The athletes are officers and employees of the entire Agribank system, along with customers and partners, who have contributed meaningful steps to raise funds. Each step is a humane message, a commitment to sharing and responsibility to the community.
Representatives of sponsors presented the sponsorship logo of 37 Hope Houses to the leaders of Huong Khe district.
As a mountainous, border district, a place of "fire pans and rain pockets", Huong Khe is a locality that is often heavily affected by natural disasters, the lives and economy of a part of the people are still unstable. The whole district has about 240 policy households with especially difficult circumstances, many households have to live in temporary and dilapidated houses. Responding to the movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" launched by the Prime Minister and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Agribank accompanied the Hope Fund to support funding for building and repairing houses for 37 households. These are not only solid roofs, but also warm homes, places to place hope for a more stable future for the people, promoting the tradition of great national unity and the spirit of "Leaving no one behind".
Representatives of sponsors and leaders of Huong Khe district presented support symbols to families.
The program was even more meaningful when it was held in Huong Khe district - Ha Tinh on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. During the resistance war against the US to save the country, Huong Khe was the direct rear of the Southern battlefield, the "steel door" that steadfastly fought back many enemy sabotage attacks, firmly protected the rear and fulfilled its duty to mobilize human and material resources to support the battlefields.
In this donation, one of the most meaningful houses was the house given to the family of Mr. Tran Viet Van, 98 years old. He was a witness to the heroic years when he fought in Dien Bien Phu, the South and Laos. His wife, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tam, is now 100 years old, bedridden and no longer lucid. The couple lives in a seriously degraded house with cracked walls, leaky roof, and the risk of collapse at any time. Their daily life depends only on pensions and subsidies, most of which must be spent on medicine and minimal living expenses.
Mr. Tran Viet Van (2nd from right) is one of the households receiving the Hope House.
The fact that Agribank started construction and presented a new house to Mr. Tran Viet Van is not only a material gift, but also a deep gratitude to the people who have written the glorious history of the nation. That is also the humane message that Agribank wants to convey: no one is forgotten, the sacrifices of yesterday are always remembered and respected in today's actions.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ha Van Dan, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Huong Khe district, on behalf of local authorities, acknowledged and appreciated the contributions, valuable sentiments, timely, effective and extremely meaningful support of Agribank for Huong Khe district in general and households receiving housing sponsorship in particular.
Delegates performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a house for Mr. Tran Van Huong's family in Nam Tra village, Huong Tra commune.
During 37 years of construction and development, Agribank has always attached importance to social security work, joining hands for the community with a sponsorship budget of hundreds of billions of VND each year.
In 2024, Agribank spent nearly 700 billion VND on social security programs, of which nearly 230 billion VND was dedicated to the movement "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", making practical contributions to thousands of households across the country. The "Hope Houses" in Huong Khe are a testament to Agribank's commitment to the community, a connection of kind hearts, working together towards a more sustainable future.
