Thanh Hoa – also known by the affectionate name “Thanh land” – is a land with a long history and culture. After thousands of years of development, this place was once the capital of many ancient Vietnamese dynasties, typically the Ho Dynasty with Ho Dynasty Citadel and Lam Kinh relic site – two prominent historical sites that attract many tourists and researchers.

Thanh Hoa's terrain is diverse with three distinct regions: the mountainous region accounts for about 73.3% of the area, the plains about 16% and the coastal region about 10.7%. The climate here is typical of the tropical monsoon region, with two distinct seasons: the hot season lasts from April to October, while the cold season usually falls from November to March of the following year.

Historically, archaeological sites show that ancient Vietnamese people settled here more than 6,000 years ago. In the flow of history, Thanh Hoa has always played an important strategic role. After Ngo Quyen's victory at Bach Dang in 938, this land became an indispensable part of Dai Co Viet nation. During the resistance war, Thanh Hoa was also a great rear base, contributing human and material resources to the southern front.

Not only rich in historical traditions, Thanh Hoa is also famous for its rich cultural treasure. Unique traditional festivals such as Lam Kinh festival, Sam Son festival and folk songs such as Xam, Vi, Cheo have become an indispensable part of the spiritual life of the people here.

With the harmonious combination of beautiful nature, rich culture - history and hospitality of the people, Thanh Hoa tourism is gradually affirming its position on the Vietnam tourism map, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
