Alcaraz just created one of the most impressive comebacks in tennis history in the Roland Garros 2025 final that took place in the early morning of June 9. The Spanish player made Jannik Sinner miss three championship points in the fourth set.
This high-profile match had to be decided by a dramatic tie-break in the fifth set, where Alcaraz brilliantly won with a final score of 3-2 (4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6).
This result helped Alcaraz successfully defend his Roland Garros title and win his 5th Grand Slam title in his career. This final lasted a total of 5 hours and 29 minutes, making it the longest Roland Garros final in history.
After lifting the trophy, Alcaraz revealed that Nadal was a particular source of inspiration. Speaking to France TV Sport, he said: "When I feel bad, when I have no strength left, I try to think about Rafael Nadal, about all the comebacks he has made."
The fighting spirit of never giving up, which was Nadal's trademark at the peak of his career, was the guiding principle that helped Alcaraz overcome the most difficult times.

Not only Nadal, advice from Alcaraz's grandfather was also an important factor.
In a separate interview with Eurosport, Alcaraz explained that he adopted the "three Cs" from his grandfather's teachings: Cabeza (head), corazon (heart) and cojones (bravery).
