Instead of manual operations, many production processes at Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV have been optimized to help improve workers' productivity.

Previously, the number of staff for each production shift in the Production Control Department was 4 people, but now it has been reduced by half. Here, each shift only needs 2 people, including: 1 production control shift leader and 1 employee.

These two people will be in charge of adjusting all the operating parameters in the factory on behalf of the department head and production director. However, in reality, only one person will work in the department, and the other person will go to check the work on site.

Up to now, all equipment of Nhan Co Alumina Factory has been connected to the control and monitoring system and centralized in the Production Operation Department. The system is continuously being improved and perfected, helping to better control the operations at 11 workshops of the factory.

Head of Production Operations Nguyen Van Nhuong said that since applying digital technology , the on-duty workers can directly intervene in production at all stages in a few steps.

From there, workers can give production orders quickly, promptly, and accurately to the operating position of each workshop, without having to go through many management stages.

“The camera screen at the unit will record all the work in the factory. If an incident occurs, through this system, the company can extract and analyze, evaluate the cause. Then, it will immediately propose a solution,” Mr. Nhuong informed.

With the characteristic of workers working scattered in many areas of the factory, since 2019, the Network Station Workshop has also soon applied shift handover software.

Workers can stay at their current work location, but still have a firm grasp of daily work content, saving time traveling in the workshop. Content communicated to the on-duty rooms is always accurate and fast, ensuring work efficiency.

By 2025, Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV will begin to form a digital enterprise, with an average score of 3.0.

Along with that, the data import and export software is also applied systematically in the workshop. The time for this work of the workers is reduced by 2/3 compared to before, which means it only takes about 3-4 minutes. The data is finalized quickly. After entering the data, the required number will be immediately available.

The management of workshop databases is more scientific . This helps reduce traditional paperwork, reduce the time spent signing books related to shift handovers, acceptance records, field records, etc.

Dak Nong Aluminum Company is aiming to complete the master plan for the digital transformation ecosystem at the factory. At the same time, standardizing business processes and applying essential software will bring practical efficiency to production and business activities.

In the period of 2024 - 2025, Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV will begin to form a digital enterprise, with an average score of 3.0 in the level of digital transformation. In the period of 2026 - 2030, the company will become a digital factory, a smart factory. The average score of digital transformation for this period will approach 4.0.

In recent times, the company has proactively developed a program to raise awareness, train digital transformation skills, and develop digital businesses for all staff and employees. From there, it has gradually transformed thinking and working methods, taken advantage of the power of technology, and increased operational efficiency.

Many softwares are now widely applied by the company, bringing high efficiency to the production and business process. In particular, the boiler system, gas generator, kiln, spreader, and support machine of the factory are now automated in operation.

Separation, crystallization, concentration and solution adjustment stages... are taking advantage of existing resources to set up and program automatic control.

The company has invested in automatic gas and water monitoring systems. At the same time, it has applied automatic environmental monitoring data management software to connect to relevant authorities...

In the coming time, the company will apply AI/ML to production management to analyze data. This application will support workers to provide optimal operating parameters, predict and find the causes of some abnormal incidents during operation. At the same time, workers can diagnose operating status, to analyze, evaluate and come up with appropriate maintenance plans.

Mr. Phan Van Thuy, Head of the Transportation Electromechanical Department, Standing Member of the Digital Transformation Board of Dak Nong Aluminum Company, said that in the coming time, the enterprise will continue to improve its organization, staff and policies to serve digital transformation work.

First, the company established a team specialized in information technology and information security. Next, it will organize training on digital transformation work.

To meet the strong development roadmap of digital transformation, the company is currently refreshing the old ones. In particular, workers must be retrained in perception and computer operations to grasp and practice new technologies.

For staff, they will be trained at a higher level, grasping higher technologies, one person training many people to serve the digital transformation and the company's operations...
