The economy continues to maintain a stable growth momentum, averaging over 10% per year, higher than the average of the whole province. Budget revenue exceeds 155 billion VND, ranking among the leading communes in the province; average income per capita reaches over 75 million VND per year, nearly 10 million VND higher than the provincial average; the poverty rate has decreased to below 1.5%, significantly lower than the average of the whole province and the whole country. Secretary of the Dong Binh Nhat Hamlet Party Cell Pham Thi Huynh Nga shared: "Improving income for people in the commune is an important goal. The Party Cell and the Hamlet People's Committee always pay attention to reviewing and understanding the circumstances of poor and near-poor families to have solutions to help them escape poverty with specific, practical actions suitable to the circumstances of each household".

The locality supports farmers in applying science and technology to agricultural production; introduces preferential loans for small traders and livestock farmers; teaches sewing to local women... Thanks to that, the rate of poor households in the hamlet has gradually decreased over the years. Up to now, the whole hamlet has 8 poor households, 17 near-poor households out of a total of 946 households. Thanks to preferential loans from the Social Policy Bank and learning fruit tree care techniques from the Commune Farmers' Association, Mr. Le Van Be, residing in Dong Binh Nhat hamlet, boldly invested in growing guava, with an area of 2,500m2. The model provides a steady income all year round, helping his family escape poverty.

In the cultural and social fields, there has been much progress, the quality of education has been improved, the rate of students graduating and transferring to higher levels is always high. Cultural and sports activities, the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life has developed extensively. The infrastructure system has received investment attention, many rural traffic routes and welfare works have been upgraded, the appearance of urban and rural areas has improved day by day. "We are very excited about the positive changes in the locality. Roads are clear, infrastructure has been invested in; cultural institutions and environmental landscapes have been built, creating favorable conditions for people to develop the economy and improve their living standards," said Mr. Nguyen Van Duc, resident of Hoa Long IV hamlet.

Secretary of the Party Committee of An Chau Commune Dang Thi Hoa Ray emphasized: “To meet the requirements and tasks set out in the new period, the Party Committee, government and people of An Chau Commune have determined that socio-economic development is the center; Party building is the key; cultural development is the spiritual foundation of society; strengthening national defense and security is essential and regular. Accordingly, the commune promotes restructuring the agricultural sector towards applying high technology, cooperative economy, developing key products associated with OCOP, building agricultural product brands. Combining the development of trade, services, eco-tourism, culture and religion, making An Chau an important economic and service center of the province”.

In order to successfully carry out the political tasks set out in the 2025 - 2030 term, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lam Minh Thanh requested the Party Committee of An Chau commune to pay attention to leading the work of Party building and rectification; building a team of exemplary cadres and party members with political mettle, moral qualities and capacity equal to the task. In particular, urgently complete planning, review, adjust or establish new planning in the commune. On that basis, focus on building an urban development program, striving to soon turn An Chau into a civilized, modern urban area, closely linked with Long Xuyen ward and neighboring areas.
