Phu Quoc requests relocation of encroaching structures and structures on Provincial Road 975

On the afternoon of September 23, the Department of Economics, Infrastructure and Urban Areas of Phu Quoc Special Zone announced that it had notified organizations, individuals and households to dismantle and relocate advertising billboards, canopies, fences and not to conduct business, trade, display goods, install or place constructions on the road corridor of state-managed land on Provincial Road 975 (Duong Dong - Cua Lap - Bai Khem Road) in Phu Quoc Special Zone.

The Department of Economics , Infrastructure and Urban Areas of Phu Quoc Special Zone said that Provincial Road 975 plays the role of the main traffic gateway of the island, connecting Bai Truong and An Thoi areas and especially the event organization areas, serving logistics, transportation and ensuring safety and security for activities within the framework of the APEC 2027 Conference.

In the long term, Provincial Road 975 will become one of the important urban development axes, contributing to completing the urban transport network, improving connectivity and promoting socio-economic development for Phu Quoc special economic zone.

In order to speed up the site clearance work and ensure the progress committed to the Prime Minister and the People's Committee of An Giang province, recently the People's Committee of Phu Quoc special zone has directed the departments, branches, unions of the special zone and the forces stationed in the area to deploy and promote propaganda, mobilization and education activities for officials and people to raise awareness of advertising activities, urban discipline, and bring advertising activities into order; overcome the situation of illegal construction in violation of regulations and business of covering, blocking, encroaching on and occupying the road and sidewalk, causing obstacles and insecurity for traffic participants and losing the urban beauty.

However, through current inspection, on Provincial Road 975, from Cua Lap intersection to Nguyen Van Cu intersection, there are still organizations, individuals, and households doing business encroaching on the roadway, sidewalks, and pavements, building and expanding houses, tents, shops, canopies, billboards, billboards, and posters, affecting the traffic of traffic participants and spoiling the urban beauty.

The Department of Economics, Infrastructure and Urban Areas of Phu Quoc Special Zone announces that any organizations, individuals and households that place advertising boards, classified ads in violation of regulations and construct works, architectural objects, display goods on the roadway, sidewalk, in the road corridor (public land for pedestrians) must be responsible for dismantling and relocating all the above works, architectural objects and goods to return the land to its original state (public land for pedestrians), within 7 days, from September 23 to September 30, 2025.

If after the time limit specified in this notice, organizations, individuals and households do not voluntarily dismantle and relocate, the Department of Economics, Infrastructure and Urban Areas will coordinate with specialized agencies and local working groups to dismantle and handle according to the provisions of law.
