Bridges connecting shores of joy

In Ca Mau , a region unique with its intricate network of rivers, canals, and waterways, each bridge is not simply an infrastructure project, but also a connection that eliminates the barriers separating this watery area.

In 2025, hundreds of bridges of compassion were built through the joint efforts of charitable groups such as: Chung Suc Ca Mau, Thien Tai, Suc Song Tuoi Tre Ca Mau... with simple yet heartwarming names: Happiness Bridge, Ma Bay Bridge, Peaceful Bridge... These "dream bridges" spanning canals and waterways contribute to changing the face of rural areas, opening up convenient trade routes, gradually narrowing the gap between regions in the province, and promoting local economic development.

These bridges, built with compassion across canals and waterways, not only connect the two banks but also pave the way for development, bringing joy and opportunities for change to rural areas.

Khanh An is a locality with dozens of bridges built using social welfare resources. Ms. Le Cam Tha, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of the commune, shared emotionally: “The most valuable thing in current social welfare activities is the spirit of doing things genuinely and effectively, stemming from the actual needs of the people. Each project aims for long-term, sustainable value, so that the people can truly benefit.”

For those directly involved in building bridges of compassion, the greatest joy comes from the smiles of the local people. Vo Trong Huu, representative of the Thien Tai Volunteer Group, shared: “Every time a bridge is completed, seeing the people travel conveniently and children go to school safely makes all our hard work worthwhile. The greatest happiness for volunteers is contributing a small part to making people's lives better every day.”

Alongside investing in the construction of public infrastructure, the Buddhist Charity and Social Welfare Board of Ca Mau province continues to affirm its role as a source of spiritual and material support for many disadvantaged people. In 2025, the board implemented many practical gift-giving programs for poor households, vulnerable people, and people in remote areas, contributing to alleviating the burden of making a living and spreading the spirit of compassion.

Comrade Vo Van Dung, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission , and Comrade Nguyen Ho Hai, Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, expressed their sympathy and joined hands to share the difficulties with the people of Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands after natural disasters, storms, and floods.

In particular, during two charitable trips held from November 19-25 and December 11-18, 2025, the Provincial Buddhist Social Charity Committee, led by Deputy Head Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, traveled thousands of kilometers to provide timely relief to people in Central and Central Highlands regions severely affected by floods in Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces. With the theme "Sharing Love," these programs not only provided material support but also conveyed a message of profound compassion from the people of the Ca Mau region to their fellow countrymen in distress. Each trip was a timely display of heartfelt support, instilling faith and strength in the flood-affected people to overcome their losses. The total cost of these relief activities exceeded 2.5 billion VND.
