On the afternoon of June 23, at the check-in point of the raft racing station, residential group 2A, Pho Rang town (Bao Yen district), the men's and women's team races took place in coordination with the Chay River Raft Racing Tournament to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Pho Rang Victory (June 26, 1949 - June 26, 2024).
The raft racing tournament on the Chay River to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Pho Rang Victory was opened and the men's team competition started on the morning of June 23.
This year's race has nearly 200 athletes from 28 racing teams representing communes and towns in Bao Yen district, competing in 2 categories: men's team (17 teams) and mixed men's and women's team (11 teams).
Entering the mixed men's and women's team competition, the weather was extremely hot, but that did not affect the quality of the races. After 2 qualifying rounds, 6 racing teams including Phuc Khanh, Xuan Thuong, Viet Tien, Tan Duong, Kim Son, Xuan Hoa excelled in overcoming their opponents in the same group to participate in the final race.
In the final race, with the spirit of enthusiasm, honesty, solidarity, and fair-play, the athletes gave fans dramatic and exciting races with many spectacular breakthroughs, competing for every meter of water.
As a result, the first place finisher was Phuc Khanh team; the second place was Viet Tien team; Tan Duong and Xuan Hoa were the 2 teams that finished in the 3rd and 4th places respectively; the last 2 places finisher were Xuan Thuong and Kim Son teams.
According to the Organizing Committee, this year's race has many innovations in the competition format, which has contributed to attracting more racing teams than the previous 2 years. From there, it has increased competitiveness and attractiveness, contributing to the success of the tournament.
In addition to the Raft Race on the Chay River, on this occasion, Bao Yen district also has other activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Pho Rang Victory, such as: historical knowledge contest on the Pho Rang Victory, sports competitions, art performances... The award ceremony and closing ceremony of the Raft Race on the Chay River are expected to take place on the evening of June 25.
