Android Police recently discovered a hidden feature in the Google Play Services source code called 'Motion Cues', which works similar to the anti-motion sickness feature 'Vehicle Motion Cues' on iOS 18.
Android will soon have an anti-motion sickness feature
Specifically, Motion Cues will display small black dots moving at the edge of the screen, simulating the movement of the vehicle. This helps eliminate the disconnect between the body's sense of movement and what the eyes see on the static screen, thereby minimizing the feeling of nausea and dizziness when getting carsick.

The feature can be activated via a toggle in the Quick Settings panel. To use it, users can choose to enable Motion Cues manually or automatically when the phone detects that they are in a car, or even other vehicles that can cause motion sickness, such as boats.
Google has yet to officially announce information about Motion Cues. It is expected that this feature will be launched with Android 16 in mid-2025 or earlier through the Android 15 update.
Previously, Apple introduced Vehicle Motion Cues on iOS 18, which received a lot of attention from users. The fact that Android also developed a similar feature shows that technology companies are increasingly focusing on user experience and health.
