Mr. Nguyen Van Trai successfully started a business with bonsai trees.

“First is words - second is paintings - third is ceramics - fourth is bonsai”, playing with bonsai is one of the four elegant pleasures from ancient times. For the art of bonsai, it is the combination of nature and the skillful hands of humans to create vivid, soulful works of art with a certain meaning, contributing to beautifying life. Although still quite young, Mr. Nguyen Van Trai, born in 1992, residing in Tan Son hamlet, Ngu Hiep commune, Cai Lay district, Tien Giang province, has turned his passion for bonsai into a business opportunity, contributing to bringing high economic efficiency to his family.

In addition to helping his family cultivate 3 hectares of durian garden, Mr. Nguyen Van Trai set aside an empty area around his house to create a garden of ornamental plants such as: yellow apricot, laurel, fir, cotton, etc. According to Mr. Trai, to have beautiful and eye-catching works, in addition to relying on the knowledge he has accumulated, Mr. Trai also studies and researches planting techniques and bending the trunk, shaping the tree to be beautiful and standard.

Also from his passion for ornamental plants, Mr. Trai boldly invested in buying and selling growing media for ornamental plants such as: coconut fiber, rice husk ash, coconut roots, peanut shells; bonsai tools; seeds; at the same time, combining buying and selling seedlings... Mr. Trai added: "In addition to buying and selling ornamental plants, I also sell growing media for ornamental plants to create conditions for myself to be able to share more with those who are passionate about ornamental plants, helping me to have more income. From there, I also have the conditions to invest in valuable works and for me, turning my passion for ornamental plants into a "money-making" job right in my homeland is something I feel very happy about".

With his sensitivity in handling off-season durian combined with the sale of ornamental plants and his own business, his family's annual income reaches nearly 300 million VND. With a stable economy, he has more conditions to participate in local Youth Union and Association movements.

In particular, as Vice President of the Youth Union of Ngu Hiep commune, Mr. Trai has been a pioneer in responding to the implementation of youth projects and tasks; willing to share effective production experiences with young people in the area, especially establishing the Ngu Hiep commune Bonsai Club, of which he is the Chairman.

At the same time, from the beginning of 2023 until now, he has also tried to establish a youtube channel called "Trai bonsai mien Tay", through the video clips he posted to share personal experiences and learn from outside experiences about bonsai, helping him gain more knowledge and techniques.

In addition, he is also an active factor in gathering and uniting local youth in participating in the movement of starting a business, establishing a career, and getting rich legitimately”.
