Tien Giang: Mobilizing the "For the Poor" Fund and the 3-level Social Security Program over 137 billion VND

(VFF) Tien Giang province held a conference to review the work of the Front in the first 6 months of the year and deploy key tasks for the last 6 months of 2025. Comrade Nguyen Chi Trung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee chaired the conference.

Accordingly, in the first 6 months of 2025, the contents and tasks according to the identified programs and plans and the sudden and arising tasks will be implemented resolutely and proactively by the Fronts at all levels.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front system at all levels has focused on promoting work contents related to the role of representing the people's legitimate rights and interests in the new situation, making efforts to accompany the government in participating in perfecting policies on socio -economic development.

Responding to the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" launched by the Prime Minister , the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province has proactively developed a plan to organize and implement the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses".

The total number of poor and near-poor households living in temporary houses and dilapidated houses in Tien Giang province is 472 (337 newly built, 135 repaired), up to now 100% have been started and put into use. In addition, through the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee, units supported the construction of 105 solidarity houses with a total cost of 5.2 billion VND.

Organizations and individuals inside and outside Tien Giang province have actively responded and supported the "For the Poor" fund and the 3-level social security program with over 137 billion VND (of which the "For the Poor" fund is 10 billion VND, the social security program is over 127.2 billion VND). From the "For the Poor" fund, 145 new solidarity houses were built, 92 houses were repaired with a total value of over 10.5 billion VND; 4,980 Tet gifts were given to poor and disadvantaged households during the Lunar New Year with a total value of 2.8 billion VND; 29 students with difficult circumstances were helped to excel in their studies with a total value of 14.5 million VND; 20 poor households were supported with capital to develop production with a total value of 220 million VND...

Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Tran Van Thi reported on the results of the front's work in the first 6 months of 2025.

The social security program has built 20 new houses and repaired 12 houses for poor and near-poor households; supported medical examination and treatment for 1,877 people with a total value of over 938.18 million VND; supported production capital for 78 poor people with a total value of 86.9 million VND; supported scholarships and learning tools for 1,315 students with a total value of 667.8 million VND; supported gifts for 262,725 poor households, near-poor households, households in difficult circumstances, single-parent households, and households that have just escaped poverty on holidays and Tet with a total value of 113.7 billion VND...

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing, giving opinions, sharing good models, creative ways of doing things and pointing out limitations and causes in implementing the work of the Front; at the same time, proposing practical solutions for effective implementation in the coming time, continuing to consolidate and promote the strength of the great national unity bloc.
