Mr. Vu Xuan Bac regularly reads Party newspapers to update information and serve the work of the Association. |
• FROM THE PAGE TO EVERY THOUGHT
In the morning at the village cultural house, Mr. K'Minh - Deputy Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, concurrently Secretary of the Party Cell of Da Dang village, Lien Ha commune, gently flipped through the pages of Lam Dong Newspaper. Every now and then, he quickly underlined lines that needed to be remembered, ready for the weekend Party cell meeting. "Every good article is a valuable introduction. It helps me not only grasp new policies, but also convey them in an easy-to-understand way to the people," said Mr. K'Minh.
In Da Dang village, with a population of nearly 900, 60% of whom are K'Ho, Tay, Nung..., the Party cell has only 7 members but is always a bright spot in activities. Meetings are often renewed in content, incorporating topics on learning from Uncle Ho from short articles. What the Party newspaper reflects from good people - good deeds, effective business models, to new policies are all "filtered" by Mr. K'Minh and told in the most familiar way for the people.
“When people understand and believe, they will take action,” said Mr. K'Minh. Reality has proven that, after the topic of learning from Uncle Ho about environmental protection, Party members and villagers in the village together planted flowers along the roadside and organized regular garbage collection. Up to now, over 90% of the roads in the village have been concreted, many sections have become colorful, clean and vibrant flower roads.
• ONE NEWSPAPER - MANY WAYS OF LIFE ARE ENLIGHTENED
Not on Zalo or social networks, Mr. Vu Xuan Bac - Party Cell Secretary, Head of Veterans Association of Tan Ket village, Lien Ha commune chooses to read the newspaper every day at home or at the Veterans Association. "I read the newspaper when I was still fighting, the newspaper was a spiritual friend in difficult times. Now that I am retired, the newspaper is still an indispensable friend," Mr. Bac said firmly.
Mr. Bac is 66 years old this year, and has been in charge of the Association's work for many years. He does not skim through the reading, but reads carefully, taking notes of the content to serve the propaganda work. From the newspaper, he learned how to build a new countryside, then together with the Veterans Association members mobilized the people to participate in building the locality to be more spacious and clean. He also worked with the association members to build the Macadamia Cooperative Group - the first OCOP product of the village.
In addition, Mr. Bac himself has successfully completed his tasks for many consecutive years and has just been awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association for the period 2021-2023 for his outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. "Someone asked me where I learned from Uncle Ho. I said, I learned from the most ordinary things in life, like a small story in the newspaper, a short story about a good person, a good deed...", Mr. Bac confided.
In Tan Binh village, Tan Thanh commune, Ms. Mong Thi Mau, a Tay ethnic woman, often receives old newspapers from village officials. She does not read news but likes stories about good people - good deeds and short articles about good models in other rural areas. "Once, I read that people in the neighboring village collected and sorted garbage to make organic fertilizer. Seeing that it was interesting, I followed suit. Now my family grows clean vegetables and no longer litters like before," Ms. Mau smiled.
• SILENT SPREADING POWER
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tu - Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Lam Ha District Party Committee, the purchase and reading of Party newspapers and magazines in the area has had positive changes in recent times. Through review, basically 100% of grassroots party organizations and party members with 40 years of Party membership have been issued with Nhan Dan Newspaper and Lam Dong Newspaper. Many cadres and party members proactively update information and promptly implement it in party cell activities, helping to propagate policies to people more clearly and easily. Mr. Tu also commented: Revolutionary press is an important bridge to help cadres, party members and people understand and follow the Party's policies correctly. When people have access to information at the right time and in the right way, they not only understand but also voluntarily act and spread good things to the surrounding community.
Revolutionary newspapers are still attached to each rural person like an old friend. From young cadres like K'Minh, to loyal veterans like Mr. Bac, or simple women like Mrs. Mau, each in their own way, they all find in each page of the newspaper suggestions, guidance and sometimes motivation to live a better life.
