Strengthen propaganda, raise public awareness
One of the key solutions identified by the police force is to promote propaganda and dissemination of laws on drug prevention and control. During the 2025 Drug Prevention and Control Action Month, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department - Provincial Police coordinated with local authorities to continuously organize propaganda and dissemination of laws on drug prevention and control. At the propaganda sessions, the police force disseminated the 2021 Law on Drug Prevention and Control, documents guiding its implementation; provided information on the harmful effects of drugs, e-cigarettes, as well as new methods and tricks of drug criminals. In particular, at the propaganda sessions, people were instructed on how to identify common drugs, forms of enticement to illegally use drugs and preventive measures. In Phuoc Hoa Ward (Nha Trang City), the propaganda program was integrated into the summer activities for more than 100 union members and youth, combined with the activity "Ring the Golden Bell - Learning about the law on drug prevention and control". This activity not only contributes to improving knowledge but also creates a healthy entertainment environment, training drug prevention and control skills for the younger generation. Propaganda parades in crowded residential areas, on central roads, with the participation of ward police, security forces and the Youth Union have strongly spread the message "One determination - For a drug-free community", attracting the attention of thousands of people.

Another important solution is to mobilize qualified business establishments (such as motels, hotels, bars) and apartment building management boards to commit to drug prevention and control. At the propaganda session in Vinh Hai ward (Nha Trang), 30 accommodation businesses and apartment building management boards signed the commitment; in Phuoc Hai ward (Nha Trang), 20 similar establishments also signed the commitment. These commitments require owners to raise their vigilance, not to let subjects take advantage of business locations to use or trade drugs, and to actively denounce crimes. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Luong Nghiem - Deputy Head of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department said that in order to build "drug-free communes and wards", Strict management of the area, improving the effectiveness of management of drug addicts and illegal drug users; coordinating with local departments, branches and organizations ineducating and reforming drug addicts and post-addiction patients is key. Along with that, encouraging businesses to coordinate with the ward police to monitor, detect and promptly prevent drug-related violations.
Strengthening crime prevention activities in the community
In recent times, as the standing agency of the Provincial Steering Committee for Crime Prevention, Social Evils and National Security Protection (Steering Committee 138), the Provincial Police force has closely coordinated with the Department of Health , Department of Education and Training, Department of Home Affairs, and organizations to implement measures to manage and educate drug addicts and post-addicts. In particular, the Department of Health supports testing and detection of illegal drug users; the Department of Education and Training promotes drug prevention and control education in schools; the Department of Home Affairs guides localities to support post-addicts in accessing loans and jobs according to Decree No. 49/2020 of the Government detailing the implementation of the Law on Enforcement of Criminal Judgments on community reintegration.
Along with that, the movement "All people participate in the fight against drug crimes" has been strongly implemented through community activities. The participation of the youth union, with its pioneering role in summer volunteer campaigns, has created a great spread. With the close coordination of departments, branches, and organizations, the active participation of the community, propaganda activities, commitments, and subject management have achieved remarkable results. In the first 5 months of 2025, the provincial police force has actively deployed measures to fight and prevent drug crimes. Many major drug cases have been investigated and clarified, the whole province has investigated 55 cases, arrested 124 drug criminals, and eliminated 4 complicated drug points. The police of communes, wards, and towns have compiled records to send nearly 270 cases to compulsory drug rehabilitation; Managing 135 subjects after drug rehabilitation... These efforts not only contribute to reducing drug abuse, but also build a safe, healthy community, aiming for sustainable development goals.
