On the morning of August 16, along with more than 1 million people nationwide, nearly 25,100 people in Dak Lak attended the program "Moving Forward with Vietnam", of which nearly 6,000 people attended the program at 10/3 Square, Buon Ma Thuot Ward, the rest participated in the program in communes and wards.
“Moving Forward with Vietnam” is organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the People's Public Security Tradition Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).
For the first time, the launching ceremony of the national walking program "Moving forward with Vietnam" was held at the central bridge point of Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi with the participation of people and armed forces in 34 provinces and cities with 3,321 communes, wards and administrative zones across the country.
With the message " 1 billion steps into the new era ", the program is not only a sports activity responding to the campaign " All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho " and the movement "Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland", but also a journey connecting millions of hearts, converging all generations , all classes of people from urban to rural, mountainous, remote areas, together towards the goal of building a united, strong and sustainable Vietnam.
In Dak Lak, the walking program “Moving forward with Vietnam” took place on the shady tree-lined streets of Truong Chinh, Tran Nhat Duat, Le Thanh Tong, Ly Nam De in the center of Buon Ma Thuot ward with a route of 2km. At exactly 6 o'clock, in a solemn and sacred atmosphere, all participants in the program in Dak Lak turned to Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi to watch the Flag Raising Ceremony and sing the National Anthem in unison with emotion of patriotism and national pride. Thousands of people gathered at the starting point of the walk. Thousands of police officers, soldiers and people set out on foot. Officers and soldiers of Dak Lak Provincial Police show their determination to walk to improve their health to build and protect the Fatherland. Most of the people participating in the program wore red shirts with yellow stars to show their love for the Fatherland. People participate in the activity "Moving forward with Vietnam - 1 billion steps into the new era". A citizen participated in the walk waving the national flag. A veteran, despite his old age, still participates in walking to stay healthy.
The family of Mr. To Viet Vinh, Chief of Office of Hanoi Law University Branch in Dak Lak province, Chairman of Dak Lak Province Running Association, has 4 people who all participated in the walking program. Young people participated in the walk with enthusiasm. Armed forces officers and soldiers walked in response to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland". Young people participated in the walk in response to the message "1 billion steps towards a new era" and contributed to reducing carbon emissions. A police officer brought his two children to join the walk in response to the program. Many families bring their children along, practicing the habit of walking from an early age to improve their health.
