The tropical depression in the East Sea is forecast to strengthen into a storm, causing waves 2-4 meters high in the northeastern part of the East Sea.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that at 1:00 a.m. this morning, September 6, the center of the tropical depression was located at about 17.4 degrees north latitude and 118.3 degrees east longitude, in the eastern sea area of ​​the northern East Sea.

The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6, equivalent to wind speed from 39 - 49 km/h, gusting to level 8. The tropical depression moves northwest, speed about 10 km/h.

It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will likely strengthen into a storm. At 1am tomorrow, September 7, the storm center will be about 500km east-northeast of Hoang Sa special zone.

Near the center of the storm, the wind is at level 8, gusting to level 10. In the next 24 hours, the dangerous area is between 16.0 - 20.0 degrees north latitude and 114.5 - 120 degrees east longitude, the sea area east of the northern East Sea. At 1:00 a.m. on September 8, the storm continued to move northwest at a speed of about 15 km/h and strengthened.

Due to the influence of the tropical depression that will strengthen into a storm, the northeastern sea area of ​​the East Sea from today will have strong winds of level 6, then increasing to level 7 - level 8, gusts of level 10, waves 2 - 4 m high, rough seas.

On the evening of September 5, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment sent a telegram to the People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Dak Lak and ministries and branches requesting them to monitor and deploy response measures to the tropical depression that will strengthen into a storm in the East Sea.
