Bac Ninh: Issued urgent order to build Cam Bao Pumping Station

BAC NINH - The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just signed Decision No. 843/QD-UBND dated September 9, 2025, issuing an order to urgently build Cam Bao Pumping Station, at K20+300 on the left dike of Cau, Xuan Cam commune.

The project has a construction scale including: Handling of silt and dike body, dike foundation, building new culverts through the dike, suction tank, pumping station house, irrigation and drainage canal system in the basin; expanding the dike cross-section, reinforcing the riverbank embankment in the pumping station construction area and related auxiliary works to serve the management and operation of the project. The estimated cost is 450 billion VND from the provincial budget reserve fund and other legal capital sources. The completion time is before June 30, 2027. The unit assigned to manage and carry out the construction of the project is the Nam Song Thuong Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Limited Liability Company.

Authorities participated in troubleshooting at Cam Bao Pumping Station.

Previously, at the end of June 2025, Cam Bao Pumping Station had an incident of extrusion and bubbling at the suction tank, breaking the structure of the suction tank foundation, dragging a lot of soil and sand, causing the foundation and the left dike of the Cau to collapse. This is a dangerous incident that can cause the pump station and the dike to collapse, directly affecting the safety of people and property of the State and people in the area, and risking flooding of the industrial park in Xuan Cam commune and neighboring areas.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to direct investors to organize the construction of emergency works in accordance with the law.
