Apple has begun production of the iPhone 15.

Apple is expected to release the iPhone 15 series in September, and leaks about these phones have been circulating quite a bit lately. According to Gizmochina, Apple has already begun manufacturing the first iPhone 15 units in Zhengzhou, China.

Specifically, Apple wants to receive pre-orders for the iPhone 15 series immediately after its introduction, aiming for tens of millions of units sold in the first few weeks. To meet this demand, Apple has begun trial production of the iPhone 15 series at its Foxconn factory in Zhengzhou, China. The trial phase is expected to be short, and mass production will begin before the end of June.

To meet production and supply demands, Foxconn has increased signing bonuses for new employees. Besides Foxconn, Shenzhen Luxshare Precision will be the second supplier for the new product line. The iPhone 15 series will feature a new design, including flat edges, a smaller notch, and a titanium frame. The device will have upgraded cameras, including a 48MP main camera, a periscope lens, and a new front-facing camera with autofocus capabilities.

The iPhone 15 series is expected to feature the new A17 Bionic chip. Based on TSMC's 3nm process, this chip promises significant performance improvements over the A16 Bionic. Additionally, the devices are rumored to support faster charging via USB-C. This feature could be achieved through a new port or a MagSafe charger.

Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives predicts that the price of the entire iPhone 15 lineup launching this year will increase by 10-20%. This means the starting price of the basic iPhone 15 will be around $899, $100 higher than the $799 price tag of the lowest-priced iPhone 14. The iPhone 15 Pro will also increase from $999 (in 2022) to $1,100 or $1,200.
