Apple is expected to release the iPhone 15 series in September and leaked information about these phones has been shared quite a lot in the past time. According to Gizmochina, Apple has started producing the first iPhone 15 units in Zhengzhou, China.
Specifically, Apple wants to take orders for the iPhone 15 series immediately after the device is introduced, aiming to reach tens of millions of sales in the first weeks. To meet this demand, Apple has started trial production of the iPhone 15 series at the Foxconn factory in Zhengzhou, China. The trial phase is expected to be short-term, and mass production will begin before the end of June.
Apple is reportedly aiming for a stockpile of 85-90 million units for the iPhone 15 series, with the Pro models making up the bulk. To meet production and supply demands, Foxconn has increased signing bonuses for new employees. In addition to Foxconn, Shenzhen Luxshare Precision will be the second supplier for the new series. So what can we expect from the iPhone 15 series?
The iPhone 15 series will feature a new design, including flat edges, a smaller notch, and a titanium frame. The devices will have upgraded cameras, including a 48MP main camera, a periscope lens, and a new front-facing camera with autofocus.
The iPhone 15 products are expected to be equipped with the new A17 Bionic chip. This chip is based on TSMC's 3nm process, promising significant performance improvements over the A16 Bionic chip. In addition, the devices are said to support faster charging via USB-C. This feature can be achieved through a new port or MagSafe charger.
Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives predicts a 10-20% price increase across the entire iPhone 15 lineup this year, meaning the base iPhone 15 will start at $899, $100 more than the $799 starting price of the entry-level iPhone 14. The iPhone 15 Pro will also increase from $999 (in 2022) to $1,100 or $1,200.
