Apple is still trying to develop an iPhone with a completely edge-to-edge display, marking the biggest step the company has taken.
However, Apple's plans to create a bezel-less iPhone are reportedly facing significant technical challenges, with a new report suggesting the new technology may not be ready by 2026, as expected for the iPhone 18.

Apple has apparently been pursuing the goal of shrinking the iPhone's screen bezels for years, with the ambition of making them disappear from view completely. However, the first bezel-less iPhone still seems to be a few years away.
According to Korean news site The Elec , Apple has partnered with Samsung Display and LG Display to develop this revolutionary new screen technology, but the development process is still facing many obstacles.
"If Apple wants to launch the iPhone 18 with a bezel-less display in 2026, we should have completed all technical discussions with our supply partners by now. However, we are still discussing this issue in detail," said a senior executive in the supply chain.
Currently, Apple's partners are facing a series of technical challenges such as ensuring consistent display quality on the screen, ensuring the antenna works effectively, dealing with the vulnerability to damage due to collisions at the edges of the screen, etc.
