Apple has just released iOS 26.1, the first beta version for developers. In this version, the Apple Intelligence toolkit supports Vietnamese, allowing the use of basic features such as word processing, notification summaries, etc.

To use Apple Intelligence in Vietnamese, you need to enable Beta Updates (for developers) in settings, then upgrade to iOS 26.1 Developer beta 1.

Apple Intelligence supports iPhone 15 Pro and later, iPad mini A17 Pro, iPad and Mac with M1 chip and later, Apple Vision Pro, and certain Apple Watch models. Since it is a beta, users are advised to back up their devices or use a secondary device.

After updating to iOS 26.1, select Set up Apple Intelligence in the welcome screen to let the system load the necessary models. Users can also activate Siri in Vietnamese, which was just supported earlier this year.

Besides Vietnamese, other languages supported by Apple Intelligence on iOS 26.1 include Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese, Swedish, Turkish and Chinese (Traditional).

The plan to support Vietnamese for Apple Intelligence was announced last year. At that time, Apple only noted the release date “starting in April” but did not share a specific time.

iOS 26.1 also adds languages for AirPods Live Translation, including Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Chinese.

In addition to adding languages to Apple Intelligence and AirPods Live Translation, iOS 26.1 tweaks some features like expanding the Liquid Glass effect in the calling app, swiping to change music in Apple Music, and some minor changes.

Currently, iOS 26.1 has just released a trial version for programmers. If you do not need to experience it early, users can wait for the next versions including public beta or official release.
