Midfielder Hai Long was the only Vietnamese player to start in the ASEAN All-Stars squad while Duy Manh, Van Vi, and Hoang Duc all started from the bench. Coach Kim Sang Sik chose four Australian players to start in order to gain a physical advantage over Man Utd.

MU's starting lineup was also quite strong with Onana, Casemiro, Maguire, Hojlund, Dalot starting from the start. However, ASEAN All-Stars were the better team with the most impressive player being Hai Long. The Vietnamese star continuously tormented the Man Utd defense with his confident dribbling on the right wing.

However, the first half of the match ended without any goals being scored. In the second half, both teams made notable substitutions. Coach Kim Sang Sik also sent the remaining 3 Vietnamese players onto the field: Hoang Duc, Duy Manh and Van Vi.

Meanwhile, MU also sent their best stars like Garnacho, Bruno V, Amad Diallo onto the field. Therefore, the Red Devils gradually regained control of the game and dominated the rest of the second half.

In the 70th minute, ASEAN All-Stars surprisingly opened the scoring with Maung Maung Lwin scoring. The Myanmar striker cleverly escaped after a pass from his teammate and finished past goalkeeper Tom Heaton in a one-on-one situation.

This was also the only goal of the match. In the end, ASEAN All-Stars caused a huge surprise when they defeated Man Utd with a minimal score.
